Teatro Capitol or translated to Theater Capital first opened in the mid-20th century as one of Macau’s first and most iconic cinemas. The cinema hall was closed down and although some of the shopping mall stores remained open, they soon closed down as well and the entire building was left abandoned, with only the ground floor operating. It was revamped and reopened in 2019, with the theater refurbished and modernized, ready to host plays and cinema screenings again.
