Nagoya Castle Park is a green space that beautifully blends natural beauty with Japanese history. The surrounding area features traditional Japanese gardens, ponds, and pathways perfect for relaxation and cultural exploration. 🌸 Ninomaru Garden Located to the east of Nagoya Castle, Ninomaru Garden spans approximately 30,000 square meters and is one of the largest daimyo gardens in Japan. Initially influenced by Confucianism, the garden later evolved into a Japanese-style garden with ponds, stone bridges, and tea pavilions. In 2018, it was designated as an Important Cultural Landscape of Japan. 🌿 Meijō Park Situated north of Nagoya Castle, Meijō Park was once part of the Ofuke-niwa Garden during the Edo period. Today, it is a large public park covering about 76 hectares. The park features the Ofukeike Pond surrounded by lawns, walking paths, and seasonal flowers such as cherry blossoms in spring and chrysanthemums in autumn. It is a popular spot for walking, exercising, and relaxing among Nagoya residents. 🏯 Architecture and Nature Around the Castle The area around Nagoya Castle boasts beautifully landscaped gardens and historical features such as stone walls, moats, and fortifications from the Edo period. In spring, visitors can enjoy cherry blossoms blooming throughout the castle grounds, with over 1,000 cherry trees in the area. ☕ Tea Houses and Cultural Activities Within the castle grounds, there are traditional Japanese tea houses like Kinjo-en and Yuin Chaseki, which host tea ceremonies and other cultural activities.
