Best of all lookout - The Springbrook National Park

It’s yet another day trip and having to start off late, we set off directly from Brisbane to one of the four national parks that make up Gondwana World Heritage-listed area in Australia - the Springbrook National Park. It was a smooth 1 half hour journey. We set foot to the ‘Natural Bridge’ - the most accessible and popular walk, upon arrival. A lovely walk which took us less than an hour return - the tracks were well maintained and along the way, though the boys didn’t get to hear birds chirping , they saw some unique trees with thick roots, probably dated back over more than 100 years ago. The lush forest was made up by one of the most ancient vegetations in Australia . As they walked, the boys mentioned about smell and I supposed it came from the natural smells associated with the park's environment. We passed by a bridge with a rock cascade waterfall and the downstream flow meant that we were on the right track. Soon, we reached the bottom of a paved path and from afar, we spotted waterfall plunging through the roof of an arched cave. There was a natural light shining through, reflecting against the water , making it like a glistering waterfall. It was a beautiful viewpoint and we stood in awe of the sight. We hurriedly hit the roads again and took a 40 mins drive up a steep winding slope to arrive at the “Best of All Lookout”. There were many lookouts and it seemed this was one of the most widely raved. We took a gentle 15 minute walk past the ancient old Antarctic Beech trees. A slight change in weather and we found ourselves among the trees that were clouded in mist which made it even more beautiful. The boys spotted some wildlife along the way too. Soon the walk led us to the edge of the plateau and a stunning view of valleys and coastline. It was worth the journey. #springbrook #bestofalllookout
