Wulai Waterfall in Taipei

My first solo trip and this waterfall sightseeing was so impromptu. I apologise for the lack of photos 😭. Spent my whole day here and it was amazing. Took bus 849 from Xindian train station (google maps is your best friend), 45 mins to an hour ride as they pass through the bus stops very quickly (be prepared to stand and move a lot as the bus is full and there are many sharp turns). Arrived at the bus terminal station and walked through Wulai Old Street, offering various of delicious dishes and different souvenir stores too. Walked further up to Wulai Log Cart and took a 5-10 minutes trip on a mini train cart to the waterfall, or you can also walk there as well. The ride is 50 twd for one way, purchase it at the counter. Waited around 45 minutes as it was very crowded. After getting off the log cart, you will be greeted by the waterfall. There are cafes and museums for you to visit around the waterfall as well. There is a cable car that goes up to the mountains (400 twd to and fro) and you can see the beautiful scenery up there. There are various of activities such as boat rowing and archery. Be warned that there is a mini “hike” up. Overall, the experience was great and it is always nice to get out of the city area and see greenery for a change.
