Pan Tianshou Art Center, a cultural landmark of Ninghai

Pan Tianshou (1897-1971), from Ninghai, Zhejiang, was a modern painter and educator, skilled in freehand brushwork of flowers and birds. Pan Gongkai, Pan Tianshou's second son, is also a modern painter, specializing in ink lotus. The Pan Tianshou Art Center is located on the north side of Tianming Lake Park in Ninghai, built to commemorate the 120th anniversary of Mr. Pan Tianshou's birth by his hometown people. It is a symbolic cultural facility in Ninghai. The art center covers an area of 39.1 mu, with a total investment of about 390 million yuan, and a total construction area of more than 28,000 square meters. The building has an innovative design, presenting an overall appearance of a 'lotus flower'. It houses three main galleries: the Pan Tianshou Art Museum, the Pan Gongkai Art Museum, and the Ninghai County Library Branch. These three main galleries are both independent and interconnected, forming a first-class platform for art collection, exhibition, research, and training.
