Ogasawara Islands | 2 hours 30 minutes by ferry, Hahajima 1-day trip🚢

Take a day trip from Chichijima to Hahajima, one of the Ogasawara Islands, a World Heritage Site. It's a 2.5 hour ferry ride away. If you're lucky, you might even see a whale from the ferry! Hahajima is more laid-back than Chichijima. It's also popular with divers. You can enjoy it even more if you stay overnight, but it's an island that you can enjoy even on a day trip. ▫︎ Shizuzawa Forest Promenade A promenade through a subtropical forest. You'll walk along a promenade through the jungle, so sneakers and insect repellent are a must. There are still traces of the war here and there, which made me think about a lot of things. ▫︎ 88 Cafe A stylish cafe by the sea. There are few restaurants on Hahajima, so this is a great place to have lunch. The terrace seats on the second floor are nice and breezy. ▫︎ Wakihama Nagisa Park Right next to 88 Cafe. It's also a spawning ground for sea turtles. There are also shallow waters where small sharks gather, making it a natural aquarium. ▫︎ Roth Memorial Museum A memorial museum where you can learn about the history of Hahajima. They also hold workshops and classes. ▫︎ Kokensakiyama I was recommended to go there because it was easy, but it turned out to be a serious climb on the way there lol. But the view from the top was really amazing, and it was worth going just for that. ▫︎ JA Ogasawara Island Hahajima Branch A souvenir shop where you can buy products from Hahajima. Depending on the season, you can buy passion fruit from Hahajima.
