Lake Suwa Pilgrimage

#FuriTabi Lake Suwa (Suwako) is a lake that straddles Okaya City, Shimo-Suwa Town, Suwa District, and Suwa City in Nagano Prefecture. Under the River Law, it is treated as part of the Tenryu River (first-class river) water system. It is a designated lake under the Law Concerning Special Measures for the Preservation of Lake Water Quality. In the animated film "Your Name," a fictional lake called Lake Itomori appears. The setting is that Lake Itomori was created when a meteorite fell long ago, but there is no lake in Japan with such a history. It has been said that Lake Itomori is modeled after Lake Suwa in Suwa City, Nagano Prefecture. And from Tateishi Park, located right next to Lake Suwa, there is a spectacular view that certainly brings to mind a scene from "Your Name."
