Prague. A fairytale city in the heart of Europe

Pretty much in the heart of Europe, you’ll find the capital city of Czechia - Prague. It’s not just the heart of Europe. Prague has been at the heart of so many conflicts, battled and turning points in history. It was the capital of the Kingdom of Bohemia and residence of several Holy Roman Emperors. It was an important city to the Habsburg monarchy and Austro-Hungarian Empire. The city played major roles in the Bohemian and the Protestant Reformations, the Thirty Years' War and in 20th-century history as the capital of Czechoslovakia between the World Wars and the post-war Communist era. But all of this history makes Prague an eclectic city that is alive both culturally and economically. On my visit to Prague, I fell in love with the architecture like no other city. Everywhere you look, the charming Romantic and Baroque architecture is on fine display and is there to be admired. It’s so easy to wander the streets and alleys and just get lost in appreciation for the fascinating buildings all around. The colour in the buildings is vibrant yet extremely tasteful, as can be seen in this street. Make sure you head to Prague for a city break.
