Québec City: European charm

Québec City is one the only remaining cities with a fortified City wall. As such, it's a city dipped in history, which its historic center, or the Old Town is largely preserved. The city is divided into the Upper Town and the Lower Town. Both parts of the city are connected by a cute funicular or a short walk. The Upper Town consists of more modern buildings, such as the famous Château Frontenac and the City Hall. This part of town also offers great views of the surrounding landscape. The Lower Town, however, is the older part of town and is full of character and charm. You will be forgiven if you think you're in a small town in Europe, or France for that matter. The cobblestone streets, small squares and cute buildings all add to the magical charm of the area. Especially if you go towards dusk when the crowds start to thin out and the evening light seeps through, you might even feel like your in a sort of storybook.
