Seoul Museum of History Sumida River Edo Period Cityscape

#Domestic travel There was an interesting exhibition at the Seoul Museum of History, so I went there as soon as the event started. It was the [Sumida River Edo Period Cityscape] exhibition. Edo is the old name for Tokyo, and the Edo period is defined as the history of Japan from the 16th to the mid-18th century. In terms of our time period, it overlaps with the period from the Imjin War to the Yeongjeongjo period in the mid-Joseon Dynasty to the emergence of Heungseon Daewongun. The Edo Tokyo Museum, which remembers the Edo period, is located in the Ryogoku area of ​​Sumida Ward, Tokyo, and I visited it before (in 2009). This time, it will be presented in an exchange format with the Seoul Museum of History. Sumida River is the name of a river that runs through downtown Tokyo, like the Han River in Seoul. There is a tourist product where you can take a cruise ship to Odaiba, so I have ridden it. You can look up at the Rainbow Bridge from the bottom of the river, but it is beautiful to just look at it from Odaiba Park or the Shiodome Building. If you look closely, it's just an old piece of iron, so it's romantic. The exhibition held at the Seoul Museum of History is free to enter, but the works of the Edo-Tokyo Museum and the Sumida Hokusai Museum of Art are on display, making you feel like you're in Tokyo. There are two Ukiyo-e works by Hokusai on display, and it was fun to look for them. I guess I'll be able to go to Tokyo again soon. I miss you.
