【Park Hyatt Shanghai】Bund River View Suite

The base rooms at Park Hyatt Shanghai are too minimalist and understated—Tony Chi's design truly shines in the suites. This 2008-opened hotel has aged gracefully, offering exceptional comfort. Having previously stayed in the Diplomatic Suite, this time I was fortunate to use a suite upgrade certificate to secure one of only two Park Hyatt Suites, and even luckier to get upgraded to the Bund River View Suite due to an early checkout by the previous guest. Room Selection Tips: Park Hyatt Shanghai has very few suites—only 14 in total, with just two being the base "Park Hyatt Suites" eligible for upgrades. If you spot this room type, lock it in immediately with a suite certificate. The next tier up, the four Bund View Suites, are also perpetually booked. If you get the chance, Rooms 8304 and 8403 offer views of Jinmao Tower and the Pearl Tower (8304 is better with a larger but diamond-shaped living area; 8403 has a larger diamond-shaped bedroom but a smaller, square living room). Rooms 8325 and 8426 have slightly obstructed Pearl Tower views. My personal ranking: 8304 > 8426 > 8403 > 8325. Above these are the six Diplomatic Suites and two Chairman Suites (presidential suites) on floors 85 and 88, featuring double-height ceilings. Avoid Diplomatic Suites 8811 and 8818 as they lack river views. Interestingly, all Diplomatic and Chairman Suites are twin-bed suites. This time, I stayed in 8304—walking in to face the Pearl Tower's spire was breathtaking. The diamond-shaped living area is spacious, with distinct zones for lounging, work, and sightseeing. The bedroom is well-proportioned with Pearl Tower views. Having previously stayed in the Diplomatic Suite and the best non-suite rooms (Bund View Twin Rooms 8803/8826), I’ve shared detailed notes. The paid 86th-floor executive lounge "Cloud 9" is highly recommended—worth a separate review.
