This little-known coastal town is so nice, I'm afraid it's going to become really popular.

I wanted to take my kids to a warm beach during the Lunar New Year holiday to play in the sand and enjoy some good food, but I didn't want to deal with huge crowds. In the end, I chose the less-traveled city of Shanwei. It has beaches, Cantonese dim sum, beef hot pot, delicious seafood, and all kinds of Cantonese snacks. There's something for everyone here, no matter what your taste. Plus, it's beautiful and not crowded. Here's a quick look at our itinerary: 🚝Transportation: Hangzhou—Shanwei (high-speed rail) 🍄Itinerary D1: Arrive in Shanwei, check in to the hotel, enjoy beef hot pot, and relax. D2: Hongsha Beach Resort Sea Castle: Strong winds and big waves make for great photos. Furiwan: The beach is clean, the water is clear, and the kids had a blast playing here. Haibin Road: There are all sorts of cafes and snack bars along the beach, perfect for grabbing a bite to eat or just relaxing. The combination of food and drinks with the blue sea makes for amazing photos. Many of my photos were taken here. D3: Jinhaiwan Resort The Sailing Chapel is super photogenic. Jinhaiwan Beach: More sandcastle building! There are also water sports here, like jet skis and surfing. D4: Play in the sand outside the hotel, let loose, and enjoy some delicious food.
