Dongshuang Bridge and Wangchun Bridge

Dongshuang Bridge and Wangchun Bridge are both located in the eastern section of Dong Street, Yuecheng District, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province. Dongshuang Bridge is a semi-circular stone arch bridge running east-west, with a main span of 5.6 meters long and 8.3 meters wide. Built during the Republic of China era using segmented parallel masonry techniques, it features a dry bridge structure at its eastern end and bears the inscription "Dongshuang Bridge" on its railings. Together with Bazi Bridge and Guangning Bridge, it forms Shaoxing's ancient bridge cultural cluster. Listed as a municipal cultural heritage site in 2014, it is now a key protected object in the Bazi Bridge area comprehensive enhancement project. Wangchun Bridge is situated south of Dongshuang Bridge, running north-south as a single-span stone beam bridge measuring 4.8 meters long and 3.1 meters wide. Its solid stone railings bear the inscription "Wangchun Bridge." Also dating back to the Republic of China era, it connects to Dongshuang Bridge via 10 existing steps and preserves the traditional waterside residential architecture in its surroundings. It was jointly listed as a municipal cultural heritage site with Dongshuang Bridge in 2011. Both bridges showcase Shaoxing's waterside architectural characteristics - Dongshuang Bridge renowned for its dry bridge structure, while Wangchun Bridge excels in its simple stone beam design, collectively carrying the historical memory of the ancient city's water system and transportation.
