Recommended budget-friendly Zanzibar hotel with a swimming pool

Zanzibar is known for its high prices 😂, and hotels tend to get more expensive the better their location. Since we are quite sensitive about safety, location was a top priority for us! Accommodations in the alleys of Stone Town are generally cheaper, but we didn’t want to wander around the alleys at night, so we looked for something near the beach. Also, even slightly cheaper hotels often had reviews mentioning bugs, which made us cautious. I’m extremely sensitive to bugs, and since Zanzibar is humid, I had heard that bugs are common in accommodations, which worried me. So, we chose a place that looked as clean as possible. The hotel we stayed at was Tembo Hotel, located right in the heart of Stone Town! It felt very safe even late at night. The hotel connects directly to the beach and even has an ocean-view infinity pool! The room was spotless, and I didn’t see a single bug. The bathroom was so clean it surprised me 😂. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and while there was a terrace, we didn’t use it because it was too hot 🤣. And guess what? Breakfast was included! The breakfast area is an ocean-view restaurant on the first floor, and it was absolutely amazing. There was a good variety of food, and the mangoes were so delicious that I ate until I was stuffed 😋.
