🚶‍♂️Walking along the Takachiho Trail is just right for a refreshing experience

Takachiho Gorge is a breathtakingly three-dimensional beauty. Basalt columns resemble architectural lines carved by a knife, with streams flowing through them. My gaze was captivated by Manai Falls—the sheer force of its plummeting force, so pure and clean, that it's impossible not to gaze a second longer, just to remember the sound of the water. The trail winds along the gorge, with shadows of trees above and the flicker of light on the water below. As you walk, it feels like you're framing a scene between mountain and water. One of the most impressive sights along the way is the 200-ton boulder, "Oni Rock." According to legend, a demonic spirit, in anger, threw the boulder into the gorge to protect this land. Now, it lies quietly across the stream. Structure and strength coexist, ruggedness and balance coexist—a natural language unadorned. 🚣♀️ The most classic experience—a rowing boat ride. Three people per boat depart from the Takachiho Gorge Cruise Terminal. The boat gently glides beneath Manai Falls, and looking up, you can witness the cascading waterfall. The mist falls on your face, a refreshing and blissful experience. The entire journey takes about 30 minutes, and tickets can be purchased on-site (approximately ¥2,000 for adults). We recommend visiting on weekdays, as queues can be common on weekends. 🌾 The mountain's Ryusei Cold Noodles are bustling with activity, but I prefer to avoid the crowds and head to Kyukamura Minamiaso Hotel. 🍱 The Japanese set meal at lunch is as beautiful as the scenery—deep-fried shrimp, tempura, karaage chicken, and chawanmushi (mushi) are neatly arranged, with just the right amount of color and layering. Outside the window, distant mountains and cloud shadows appear.
