Cherry blossoms are in full bloom along the Wuhan University School Hospital Road and in Guishan Park. Wuhan University: One of the most beautiful universities in China, it blends cherry blossoms with Republican-style architecture, creating a rich cultural atmosphere. Ascend the Old Dormitory and look down to see a stunning spring scene of green glazed tiles and pink and white petals. Along Cherry Blossom Avenue, the roadside cherry blossoms resemble clouds and mist. Cherry Blossom Varieties: Approximately 1,000 trees. Primarily Japanese cherry blossoms (Somei Yoshino), complemented by early-blooming, late-blooming, and mountain cherry blossoms, resulting in staggered blooming periods (from early March to early April). Core Cherry Blossom Viewing Areas: Cherry Blossom Avenue (in front of the Old Dormitory), Kunpeng Square, around the Administration Building, the Science Building, and the slope of the Wanlin Art Museum. Best Visiting Routes: Classic Route (approx. 2 hours): School Gate Archway → Kunpeng Square (concentration of early-blooming cherry blossoms) → Cherry Blossom Avenue (Old Dormitory + panoramic cherry blossom view) → Old Library (overlooking cherry blossoms) → Wanlin Art Museum (slope cherry blossoms + modern art exhibition). Less Crowded Route: Enter through "Lingbo Gate" and stroll along "Science Building → Fengyuan → Administration Building" to avoid the crowds in the main scenic area. Wuhan University's official WeChat public account/website is expected to open reservations 3 days in advance (e.g., March 12–30, 2024, with a daily limit of 15,000 people). There are currently two places on campus where cherry blossoms are blooming: ① The lawn in front of the Fifth Teaching Building (p13-14 every tree is crowded with people; if you arrive in the afternoon, it's not recommended to go here, as there are only three or four trees). ② The blossoms at Luojia Mountain Villa are much more abundant, with more and taller trees than at the Fifth Teaching Building, offering more photo opportunities. Because it takes nearly 20 minutes to walk there, there are fewer people. You don't need to bring a stool, as the area is on a slope and relatively low. ps: The entrance to Luojia Mountain Villa is blocked for construction, so you need to go around from the slope.
