Kannonzaki Park in Yokosuka

This is the prefectural Kannonzaki Park that extends to almost all of Kannonzaki, sticking out Tokyo Bay. This park has hiking and trails, water front walking and beach sea glass. This is definitely one of the best places to have a picnic around Yokosuka. This park is home to the Kannonzaki Lighthouse. It is the first Western-style lighthouse in Japan, and construction began on the Miura Peninsula on November 1, 1868. This lighthouse, designed by French designer Léonce Verny, has unparalleled brightness and greatly contributed to the internationalization and modernization of Japan.
