Winter's Whisper: Tsukumi Serenity Revived
#2024wish
In January 2015, I embarked on an unforgettable trip to Tsukumi Bridge in Sapporo, Japan. Located on the Toyohira River in the picturesque Jozankei Onsen area, the tranquility of Tsukumi Bridge took on a magical quality beneath a heavy blanket of snow. The serene landscape, with the bridge gracefully spanning the river, created an ethereal atmosphere. The crisp air was filled with a sense of calm, accentuated by the surrounding snow-covered trees. As I strolled along the bridge, each step left a soft imprint on the pristine snow. In 2024, I wish to go there again, yearning to relive the serene beauty and capture new memories beneath the winter's enchanting embrace.

The birthplace of Danshaku potatoes
I went to Nanae Town in Hokkaido, the birthplace of Danshaku potatoes.
What are Danshaku potatoes?
It is said to be named after its creator, Baron Kawada Ryukichi.
The museum has many foreign farming tools and miscellaneous goods on display, and items related to Baron Kawada are displayed very stylishly.
The eye-catching paper exhibit is a love letter to his girlfriend Jenny, whom he met while studying abroad in England, and it is said that these potatoes are a memory of that time.
Knowing the history of the potato, the potato you eat will surely taste even more different.
In the shop corner, there are also popular local products such as potato T-shirts that you can only find here, and it is fun just to look at them.
Why not visit the birthplace of Danshaku potatoes while learning about the history of the potato?

It's fun because it's equipped with a cafe where you can enjoy Nanae's ingredients and a rest area where you can relax after your trip♪
You can buy local vegetables and souvenirs in the sales corner♪
There's also a corner where you can learn about the agricultural history of Nanae and a kids' space, so it's also recommended for families!!
