Although it is located in a remote area, it has unique beauty due to its proximity to the fjord. The red and yellow wooden cottages next to the port are a classic photo-taking spot. Nusfjord has nearly 50 fishermen's huts, most of which were built in the 19th century. They were once used as temporary residences for local people to catch fish. Later, due to the rise of tourism, they are now converted into accommodation for tourists. Visitors have to pay 100 Norwegian kroner to visit the fishing village. Visiting in the snowy midwinter only highlights the isolated beauty of the fishing village of Nusfjord. Some of these old ochre-red wooden houses have been converted into small museums, displaying tools and props from the past fishing life; some have been converted into restaurants and cafes, where drinking coffee is particularly enjoyable. #NorwayTravel #NorwayTravel

#JanuaryGoodPlaces2025 Nusfjord itself is a century-old fishing house attraction and one of the most typical and large fishing villages in the Lofoten Islands. If you choose to stay in the tourist attraction, you don’t have to buy additional tickets to visit Nusfjord, and you can wander around the fishing village every day. The houses in Nusfjord fishing village have been repainted, and the feeling of a century-old house no longer exists; nearly half of the fishing houses 🏘️ are painted yellow, which is different from the bright red of other fishing houses in the archipelago. Every house open to the public in the fishing village has its own function such as a factory, iron smelter, sawmill, etc. You can imagine that the century-old fishing village has been self-sufficient for a long time! There is a viewing platform in the fishing village where you can enjoy the panoramic view. There are even a few fish hanging on the roadside in the corner, scaring tourists with their ferocious mouths, and some cod heads waiting to be dried. Woolen cloth!

Laksfossen is a 17-meter high waterfall located in the Væversna River in Grænne, Nordland, Norway, about 20 km north of Trofoss. During the fishing season, salmon can be easily caught on the 44-kilometer-long river section, but a permit is required. In the past, salmon fishing was important to the local economy and livelihoods, not for recreation. In the late 19th century, salmon were so abundant that people could actually catch them with their bare hands. The unique Lofoten Viking Museum Rovertown Viking Museum was rebuilt on the original site of the Viking Chief Architect. The 83-meter-long house looks like an inverted boat.
