#JanuaryGoodPlaces2025 First experience at Golden Lounge at Kuala Lumpur Airport, Malaysia! This time I departed from Kuala Lumpur Airport and took Malaysia Airlines to the resort of Langkawi. Thanks to my friend’s high-speed airline card, I was able to enter the airport’s VIP lounge, the Golden Lounge, for domestic flights. The VIP lounge is close to the domestic A2 boarding gate. The long and narrow space is quite spacious. You can clearly see the planes taking off and landing along the captain's runway. The view is great. It provides basic drinks, a cooked food area, and freshly cooked pasta. The taste is just so-so, but the view is good. The other flight was from Langkawi to Penang, also a domestic route in Malaysia. This time, I entered the St. Regis VIP lounge. The decoration was obviously more elegant, as if I had been upgraded from economy class to business class. Hey guys! So, during my recent Langkawi trip with my friend, we were surprised to find that there weren't many Singaporeans there. In fact, we only met one Singaporean couple during our entire trip! 
Most of the tourists there were actually Malaysians themselves. I think Langkawi is really such an underrated destination amongst Singaporeans. And guess what? It's just a 1hr25min flight away from Singapore! ✈️
Anyway, we were there for 3d2n and it was the perfect getaway. 
Here are my✨ top 5 highlights✨ from the trip:
1) Mangrove Tour 
This place really reminded me of Phuket. The boat ride was super relaxing and we even got to witness an eagle feeding! We also made a stop at the bat cave which was really cool. 
2) ATV experience 
For just $30, we got to enjoy 6 activities which included an ATV experience. Honestly, the other activities weren't that great but the ATV ride was definitely worth it. Do note that the ride is more suitable for beginners though. 
3) Skycab cable car and skybridge
Skybridge is kinda like the icon of Langkawi. The views up there are simply breathtaking and there are plenty of cute photo spots along the way. I highly recommend getting the glass gondola ticket because it comes with an express pass. We felt like VIPs because we didn't have to queue! 
4) Sunset Cruise 
The vibes on the sunset cruise were immaculate. We paid $60+ for free flow alcohol and dinner on board. The group on board with us was really friendly and we had a great time together. Oh, and there was even a net jacuzzi which was super fun! 
5) SHOPPING 
The chocolates in Langkawi are insanely cheap! I bought Ritter Sport chocolate for just 3.90RM! I also got some skincare from the nearby Guardian which was on sale, and it was only 1/3 of the price compared to Singapore! 
🏖️ There are plenty of nice beaches around Langkawi. We stayed near Cenang Beach and it was so healing to take a stroll along the beach during sunset. 
🚕 It's also super easy to travel around with Grab, we never had any issues calling for a ride.
✨ Overall, I definitely recommend Langkawi for a short getaway. It's such a hidden gem that more people need to explore!

If you are looking for a quiet, calm and a cottage style accommodation surrounded by lot of trees and plants, and a white sandy beach infront, Frangipani Langkawi Resort is the answer. It is located at Pantai Tengah area which is more secluded compared to the happening Pantai Chenang, but the location is not that far from Pantai Chenang area. This resort is very clean and calm, very suitable for those artistic person looking for inspiration or meditation. There’s a chlorine pool, salt water pool and jacuzzi for you to enjoy or you can just choose to bath and sunbathing at the beach. The beach is very clean and not too crowded. Everything is so near, within walking distance. You can also adopt a plant in this resort if you wish to. I did adopt a maroon frangipani since I am a plant enthusiast. For breakfast, they provide local and western cuisine. Do not forget to try their special dish “organic cream of kangkung soup”. Kangkung is a water spinach and a famous vegetable among the local. This is my first time having a cream of kangkung soup, and the taste is quite unique (usually most of the hotel I stay will serve mushroom or chicken soup). Langkawi is a chill place. The beaches are stunning, and the water is so clear, it feels like you’re in a dream. I spent a lot of time just lying on the beach and swimming in the sea – super relaxing. One of the coolest things I saw was how the locals feed the eagles. They take boats out to the river, and you can watch the eagles swoop down to grab food that they throw. It’s pretty wild! You’ve gotta try the local seafood – it’s fresh and really tasty. We rented the 4 hrs Jet Ski Island Hopping Tour including instructors with the Mega Water Sports Sdn Bhd. The equipment provided was top-notch; their instructions are clear, professional plus humour, making entertain to the whole journey. Their itinerary was great and I’d 100% recommend this to anyone! In this tour we had visited many islands of the Langkawi archipelago. With some rest points to take picture and swim if we wanted to. We saw spectacular rock formations and island structures, and even saw the symbol of Langkawi; Red-backed Sea Eagle, and the eagles come into feed! Moreover, because the tide was low, we got to cruise through a small cave with incredible stalactites. This island hopping tour was such a thrilling & adventurous experience! 🌊 Overall rated: 4.9/5.
