Switzerland is expensive.🇨🇭 However, it is also super pretty. Most of the places in Switzerland look out of a move or a beautiful paint. The mountains, the lakes, the skies, all very, very beautiful. This time for me was a short one, just a few days in #zermatt, a cute little town in the Switzerland’s Valais canton. It is a well know location for #skiing #climbing and #hiking. If you are lucky enough to pass by this beautiful place, you should definitely go for a hike and enjoy the beautiful view of the #matterhorn , the most iconic Swiss mountain (it was also featured on the Toblerone chocolate until a few years ago). The Matterhorn is beautiful, and the 5 lakes hike is a great way to hike the area while enjoying the view (the hike should take around 2 hours and 30 minutes but you can enjoy the panorama and spend a few hours up there). To get to the starting point you need to take a train from Zermatt to Sunnega and a cable car to Blauherd - cost around 40 Swiss Franc return). In Zermatt town you can also try local dishes such us #cheesefondue , #raclette and #rösti . All very yummy, all very “fatty” but still worth to try once in a lifetime 😅 I haven’t skied in ages, but it would be great to come back here in winter and check the place out with snow. Loved it 😍

Restaurant La Ferme 📍Hofmattstrasse 38, 3920 Zermatt, Switzerland Before visiting Zermatt, I didn’t have high expectations for the food there, but this restaurant’s flavors and atmosphere were truly praiseworthy. The Christmas vibe was absolutely amazing. When I visited, it was snow season, and there were still many people skiing. The restaurant was a bit hard to find. After making a reservation in advance, I went around 7-8 pm. At first, it wasn’t very crowded, but later more guests arrived one after another, with a mix of English and German speakers from various places. Since the restaurant is located in a hotel, it has a great ambiance. With candles, warm yellow lighting, red tablecloths, and Christmas decorations, the atmosphere is perfect for couples and families alike. Braised Beef with Fries This dish had a very German style. The beef was slightly on the tougher side, but the fries were quite good! Salad Very refreshing, with a unique dressing that was a delightful balance of sweet and sour. Baked Shrimp This was quite special. The shrimp weren’t large, but they were tender, fresh, and flavorful without being greasy or fishy—a standout dish! What should have been a relatively easy trek became a slippery challenge, with each step turning treacherous. We found ourselves constantly slipping and falling, making it difficult to stay on our feet. The snow-covered trail slowed us down significantly, and it took twice the time to reach our destination. At one point, the descent was so steep and slick that I had to squat down and inch forward, carefully sliding down the hill to avoid falling again. Despite the challenges, the snow-covered landscape was stunning, and the thrill of navigating the trail made it an unforgettable adventure.

The Omnia's car is blue, unique and very cute. Highlights - The highlight of this place is probably the swimming pool with a door to the cold air and beautiful mountain views. Price - We stayed for 1 night by booking directly with the hotel. We got it for 20k+ per night. During the time we went, the hotel was under construction next door, so they sent us an email saying that you would receive a discount. Because there was a crane blocking the Matterhorn, we didn't get to see the view 100%. Reduced to about 16k per night, it's okay. 🫶🏻 All the staff in the hotel are lovely. The person who helped us carry our bags was ours and my boyfriend's 2 bags, each weighing more than 20 kg. He was determined to carry it by himself. We wanted to help, but he said it was okay, but it was heavy. I was embarrassed. 🥹🥹🥹 When we arrived at the lobby, we were given a choice of welcome drinks. We chose champagne, lol. We were going to use it as a prop for taking pictures. After that, someone took us around the hotel and showed us our room. The room was cute, not too small or too big. The balcony of the room had a view of the entire city of Zermatt. It was so beautiful, like a fairytale city. It was really beautiful. Now for the swimming pool. I recommend going in the morning because there were no people around. You can take beautiful pictures without people in them. We took pictures for a while and then got dressed to go to breakfast. Breakfast was 10/10. It was sooo delicious. If you go to Zermatt, I recommend this place. The view is beautiful and unique. It's on a mountain. The hotel is also very cute. I assure you there are other things to look forward to. And needless I point out that it is a well known and reliable ski resort destination. So for those of you that seek a resort destination, you'll have that too. Personally, I very much appreciate things such as a place being car free. It makes for such a peaceful atmosphere like in the case of Zermatt. I arrived here from Montreux. One of the great advantages of an early start was that upon arrival in zermatt, I was able to get the funicular ride from the valley stationnto sunegga. This is only functional till 4am so an early start helps greatly. My hostel was not too far from the station. This was a plus too. The following day I decided to start with exploring the local village. The constant backdrop of mountains, wooden chalets, fresh air and flowers all around made for such a peaceful feeling. In terms of places to visit. I started with the matterhorn museum, which was a great dive into the history and living of Zermatt. This was followed by my favourite past time, window shopping through the luxury jewellery and clothing brands, passing by bars, restaurants, boutiques, souvenir shops, bakeries and shops selling pastries. Eventually arriving to my go to place in Switzerland for meals, Mcdonalds. Which is Switzerland is about the same as spending on a proper restaurant meal in some countries. After that I explored the older parts of this lovely village, the fountain that honours a legendry zermatt born Swiss climber. And then several other impressive spots during the remainder of my time.
