The lift with a view
A new attraction at the North end of Italy’s lake Garda is a glass elevator with a difference. Straddling the side of Monte Rochetta the ascent provides a dramatic view of both the glistening lake and the surrounding towering mountains.
Once you reach the top at around 250m you have several options. Those looking for a more relaxing experience can grab a coffee at the cafe and just take in the views. Whereas those with adventure in mind can continue by taking the steep hike up to the Santa Barbara church or travel even further by the Via Ferrata (make sure you have the correct equipment)

Spent 3 days at Garda lake 🇮🇹
#italytrip
Spending three days at Lake Garda in Italy was an absolute dream! 🏞️ This stunning lake, surrounded by picturesque towns, lush mountains, and olive groves, is perfect for anyone looking to relax and soak up the natural beauty of Italy. On my first day, I explored Sirmione, a charming town located on a narrow peninsula that stretches out into the lake. The Scaliger Castle, with its impressive moat, is a must-visit. Entry was about €6, and the views from the top were breathtaking! 🏰 Afterward, I took a dip in the thermal waters at Aquaria Thermal Spa, which was the perfect way to unwind.
Day two was all about adventure! I took a ferry to Malcesine and went up Monte Baldo on the cable car (around €22 round trip). The ride offered panoramic views of the lake and the Alps that were simply unforgettable. 🌄 At the top, I did some light hiking and even paragliding for the first time – what a thrill! Later, I strolled through Malcesine’s medieval streets, enjoying gelato and shopping for souvenirs. 🍦
On my last day, I visited Riva del Garda, on the northern tip of the lake. The atmosphere here was more laid-back. I rented a bike and rode along the scenic trails by the water, then relaxed with a delicious seafood lunch at a lakeside restaurant. The combination of crystal-clear water, historic towns, and outdoor activities makes Lake Garda the perfect getaway! 🌅 #trip #LakeGarda #ItalyAdventure #Sirmione #MonteBaldo #LakesideLiving

This summer, I spent an unforgettable day at Lake Garda in Italy, and it was nothing short of magical! We started our visit in the picturesque town of Sirmione, known for its charming streets and the impressive Scaliger Castle. The entrance fee to the castle was about €8, and climbing to the top rewarded us with stunning panoramic views of the lake.
After exploring the castle, we took a stroll through the town, enjoying gelato from a local shop as we wandered along the lake’s edge. The clear, blue waters of Lake Garda were so inviting that we couldn’t resist renting a small boat for an hour (around €40). Cruising on the lake with the mountains in the distance was a highlight of the trip.
Later, we visited the thermal baths at Aquaria (entry €36), where we relaxed in the warm, healing waters while gazing out at the lake. As the day ended, we found a cozy lakeside restaurant and enjoyed a delicious meal as the sun set over the water.
Lake Garda is a perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and Italian charm. It’s a destination I’ll never forget! 🚤🍦 #trip #LakeGarda #ItalianLakes #Sirmione #ScenicViews #SummerGetaway
Discover the Hidden Gem Nestled Between Majestic
🇮🇹📍Welcome to #RivadelGarda, a hidden gem nestled between mountains ⛰️ and crystal-clear waters 💦 Breathe in the freshness of the alpine air and let yourself be captivated by the majesty of #LakeGarda. Explore the charm of the historic center, enjoy water sports, or simply relax on the beach. Riva del Garda will give you unforgettable moments of beauty and serenity.
Cycling on the edge
Challenging yet accessible for all abilities is one of the best ways to describe the cycling route that clings onto the cliffs of the north western shores of Lake Garda.
The road known as the Ponale is a mountain biking route that takes you from the town of Riva del Garda right up through the mountains and ending up on the shore of the alpine Lake Ledro. The route itself is bumpy I places but well maintained and provides a great first mountain biking experience for those wanting to give it a try #getgoing2025 #mountainbiking #lakegarda
3 destinations, 11nights and a jam packed itinerary. Italy has my heart
Lake Garda, Venice, and Verona in 11 Nights”
Italy in the summer is pure magic, and with its easy public transport, we managed to cover three incredible destinations in just 11 nights. With the weather in the high 20s, every day felt like a postcard-worthy adventure.
Lake Garda: Serenity on the Water
We kicked off our tour with a boat ride on Lake Garda, gliding past picturesque villages and dramatic mountains. You can anchor up and jump in the water for a swim, it’s perfect to cool off.
Venice: Gondolas and Romance
Next up was Venice, and yes, a gondola ride is an absolute must. Drifting through the canals, under centuries-old bridges, was an experience straight out of a movie. The city’s charm is undeniable, and it’s one of those places you just have to see to believe. You’ll definitely get your steps up here, be mindful there is lots of steps.
Verona: Vibrance and Juliet’s Balcony
Our final stop was Verona, a city bursting with life and history. We stood beneath Juliet’s Balcony, you are quite crammed in, buts it lovely to see. You walk through an ally where everyone leaves their notes.
Why Italy is a Must-Visit
From the tranquil waters of Lake Garda to Venice’s enchanting canals and Verona’s lively streets, this trip was unforgettable. If you’re dreaming of Italy, plan your own adventure—you’ll fall in love with every corner. It’s so easy to access different places to see and do of what Italy has to offer. #venice #verona #lakegarda #voyagevibes
Views across lake Garda
Looking for the perfect summer beach escape? Fancy something a little different? Then there might be an alternative to heading to a seaside resort. Northern Italy’s Lake Garda has plenty of beaches around its huge circumference for you to enjoy those warm and long summer days.
The lake temperature can reach over 20c in the late summer, perfect for that afternoon swim and there’s plenty of beach bars to get yourself a drink or snack #lakegarda #italy #beach
Busatte Tempesta: The Stairway to heaven
Those looking for a hike at the Northern end of Lake Garda might be wondering where to start with the wide variety available. One of the most spectacular and often overlooked of those is the Busatte Tempesta.
Beginning just outside the resort town of torbole the climb through Cypress Trees on the foothills of Monte Baldo provides spectacular views along the lake to the south and towards the alps to the north. Once completing this walk it’s an easy bus ride back from Tempesta to your start point

Garda Lake 🇮🇹
#summerdestinations
My trip to Lake Garda this summer was absolutely stunning! 🌅 The entrance fee to visit the lake area is free, but we did splurge a bit on a boat rental which cost us around €50 for an hour—a bit pricey but totally worth it for the views! The crystal-clear water, surrounded by mountains, makes it feel like a little piece of paradise. The small towns like Sirmione and Limone sul Garda were charming with their narrow streets and beautiful architecture. 🌿
We also visited the Grottoes of Catullus, which had an entrance fee of about €6, giving us a glimpse into ancient Roman history. The area is full of cozy cafes and gelato shops, perfect for taking a break from the summer heat. The nearby Gardaland amusement park is great if you’re traveling with kids or just want some thrill rides 🎢.
Overall, Lake Garda was a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. The sunsets alone are worth the trip, and I’d go back in a heartbeat! 😍

The beautiful town of Sirmione, Lake Garda, Italy
#100WaysOfTravel #sirmione #LakeGarda #Italy
Sirmione is a small island located at the end of a narrow peninsula on the southern shore of Lake Garda. It is surrounded by water on three sides and enjoys the beautiful scenery of the surrounding lakes. Since the Roman poet Catullus was fascinated by the spectacular scenery of Sirmione, it has become a place that poets and thinkers of all ages yearn for. People call Sirmione a shining pearl on the peninsula, not only because of the beautiful natural scenery of Lake Garda, but also because countless literati and politicians have left their glorious footprints. Catullus, Caesar, Dante, Carducci, Pound... The long list is like the stars in the sky, glorifying the fame of the town.
