I went to the Kyoto Railway Museum, which is just a short walk from Umekoji Kyoto-Nishi Station in Kyoto.
54 trains, from steam locomotives to bullet trains, are stored and displayed here!
There are many exhibits that you can actually touch, so children can learn in a fun way.
The roundhouse where the steam locomotives are stored is impressive!
You can actually ride a steam locomotive 😊
This is a recommended facility for sightseeing around Kyoto Station, which can be enjoyed by both railway lovers and those who are not familiar with trains.

The Hara Model Railway Museum is a recommended place to visit on a rainy day in Yokohama Minato Mirai!
It's just a short walk from Shin-Takashima Station, just like the Anpanman Museum and the Nissan Global Headquarters Gallery.
A realistic railway museum for adults that is a must-see for railway lovers! Kids are sure to be excited by the area with Yokohama-inspired models and foreign trains.
My son, who is a train enthusiast, is having fun with his camera.

Kyoto Railway Museum is one of the largest railway museums in Japan, having opened in 2016 after expanding and renovating the former Umekoji Steam Locomotive Museum. Various trains from throughout the era are on display, and you can even experience riding a steam locomotive.
It is also close to Kyoto Station, and you can see many trains passing by from the observation deck.

Railway Museum EF 551 Electric Locomotive
There are many different vehicles on display at the Railway Museum, but one that really catches your eye is this electric locomotive with its slightly unusual shape!
These days, most electric locomotives are so square that they could even be described as rectangular, but the old ones had bonnets!

The old Tokyo Station at the Railway Museum!
In the static train viewing area, there is an area that recreates the old Tokyo Station!
A passenger car from the Fuji train is preserved here!
The interior of the train is quite luxurious, isn't it?
Even the station sign and atmosphere made me feel like I had traveled back in time!
I wish it would just start moving again!
#themepark #museum #railwaymuseum #coupletrip
Experience the emergency stop button at the Railway Museum!
Not only can you see many statically preserved trains at the Railway Museum, but it's also an experiential museum!
Today we'd like to introduce you to the railroad crossing installed in the South Building!
This is the same railroad crossing that is actually in use!
When you press the emergency stop button, a siren sounds and the emergency stop signal lights up!
It's incredibly realistic!

Railway Museum 400 Series Shinkansen
Have you ever heard of the term "mini-shinkansen"?
This 400 series shinkansen is the original mini-shinkansen!
The first mini-shinkansen in Japan was the 400 series that runs on the Yamagata Shinkansen.
Shinkansen trains are designed with a wider body than regular conventional trains, but the Yamagata Shinkansen runs on conventional train sections in addition to the shinkansen section, so the width of the body is adjusted to match that of conventional trains!
As a result, there is a gap between the platform and the door, so a step is installed on the body (4th photo)

Railway Museum No. 1 Locomotive
We arrived at the area inside the Railway Museum where Shimbashi Station has been recreated!
The train that is preserved here is the No. 1 locomotive.
This vehicle was the first railway introduced in Japan and came from England!
Amazingly, only one train set of this vehicle was ever introduced!
It is an extremely valuable vehicle that has been designated a national treasure and important cultural property!
The first section it operated on was between Shimbashi Station and Yokohama Station!

Railway Museum Museum Restaurant!
The Railway Museum's restaurant was designed to resemble an old railway dining car!
In the past, there were many trains with dining cars!
However, nowadays, as train speeds have improved, the demand for dining cars has decreased.
What a shame!
From now on, if you eat at this restaurant in the Railway Museum, you can get the feeling of being in a dining car!

The Railway Museum's famous train! SL C57 No. 135
When you enter the Railway Museum and go to the area where the statically preserved trains are gathered, you will see the large SL C57 No. 135!
SL C57 No. 135 is mounted on a turntable!
The large train expresses strength, after all!
The jet black body is very cool!

Railway Museum's museum shop!
The Railway Museum's museum shop has a huge selection of items!
The best thing to buy is the Railway Museum exclusive items!
There are many items that can only be purchased at the Railway Museum!
If you go with children, be careful of the Plarail sales area!
There were many children crying, begging, "Buy it! Buy it!"
By the way, there is even a warning sign!
With such a wide selection, it seems like it will be very expensive when you pay the bill...
By the way, the disinfectant installed at the entrance as a preventive measure against COVID-19 has become a disinfectant "station"!
#themepark #museum #coupletrip #railwaymuseum
The entrance to the Railway Museum!
You can enjoy the museum without a ticket, and the entrance is well thought out!
For train fans, the exhibition of preserved trains and the opportunity to see a variety of wheels is a must-see!
By the way, there is even a design of the Shinkansen timetable on the ground!
To be honest, I was surprised at how much attention to detail they put into it!

Railway Museum (Taisei) Station
The Railway Museum is one of the major theme parks in Omiya!
The Railway Museum is directly connected to the Railway Museum (Taisei) Station on the New Shuttle Line.
Because it's directly connected to the Railway Museum, the photo booths at the station have a train design!
The inside of the ticket gates is also designed to give you the feeling of being in the Railway Museum, with train simulator games and a New Shuttle wheel on display!
It's exciting to stop by before going to the Railway Museum!

[Sakuragicho] Be amazed by the old locomotives at the Kyuyoko Gallery
#EastJapan
I went to the Kyuyoko Gallery (former Yokohama Railway history exhibition) in Sakuragicho CIAL.
The exhibits include a 110-type steam locomotive that was actually in operation, giving a sense of railway history.
My son, who is a train fanatic, was very excited when the whistle went off every hour. It's a free spot, so why not drop by during the summer holidays?

SCMAGLEV and Railway Park
This time, we will introduce the SCMAGLEV and Railway Park in Nagoya City!
The SCMAGLEV and Railway Park is managed by JR Central, so there are many exhibits related to the Tokaido Shinkansen and linear motor cars. I'm sure you've all ridden the Tokaido Shinkansen at least once. This is one of the few facilities where you can see those vehicles up close. I still can't forget the power of the Shinkansen when it appeared in front of me.
There are also various other exhibits such as railway dioramas, driving simulators, displays of conventional trains, and the mechanisms of the Shinkansen. It is sure to be enjoyed not only by families with children but also by adults, so please go at least once!
By the way, the driving simulator is very popular, so if you want to use it, we recommend that you enter at the opening time.
To access, transfer to the Aonami Line from Nagoya Station, get off at Kinjofuto Station, and it is a 2-minute walk from there.

[UK] National Railway Museum
It's no exaggeration to say that I went all the way to York to visit the railway museum in the country where railways originated. You can spend hours here learning about the history of railways and seeing vehicles from various eras and countries that don't disappoint!
It's located right next to York Station, and it's free (you can make a donation at the entrance).
What was interesting was the introduction to the school train that used to run in time for the new term of the boarding school in the past. When I saw the black-and-white photos of children in uniforms, carrying large suitcases and greeting their families from the train window, I discovered that this is the train that was modeled after the Hogwarts Express in Harry Potter.

Omiya "Railway Museum"
This is the Railway Museum in Omiya, Saitama Prefecture.
The Railway Museum is a railway museum that opened in October 2007 as the main project for the 20th anniversary of JR East's founding.
The museum is based on the concepts of "railroads," "history," and "education." In addition to displaying actual trains while recreating the scenery of those days, there are many fascinating corners where you can feel close to trains, such as Japan's largest train diorama, Japan's first simulator using the "D51" driver's cab, and hands-on learning using actual trains and models. ✐☡
There are 41 impressive trains on display, including outdoors! From old trains you've never seen before to trains that are still in use, you can see them all at once, so it's a lot of fun to look at them♪
There is a large diorama, you can experience simulators, and you can learn about trains in the science zone, so you can play all day long ⸝⋆⸝⋆
There is also a bento shop where you can eat bento while looking at actual trains for lunch🍱

I want to plan more trips and see beautiful scenery together☆
Our children are still young, so we mostly travel domestically, but someday I'd like to travel abroad✈️
I want to discover many things, expand my horizons, and broaden my world
