The night in Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter was so beautiful!
#Spring0yentrip
When I visited Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter at night, I was greeted by a fantastical world that made me feel like I had traveled back in time✨
The white-walled streets were lit up, and the scenery reflected on the river was truly beautiful, and I was moved in a way that cannot be conveyed in a photo. It was a very luxurious time to walk slowly along the river in a quiet and calm atmosphere.
The way the willow trees sway in the wind and their swaying shadows reflected on the water was also impressive.
Unlike the bustle of the day, there were few people in the Bikan Historical Quarter at night, and you could enjoy a mellow, adult atmosphere. I am filled with gratitude for having been able to encounter such a beautiful Japanese landscape.

Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture
Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter
When you think of the Bikan Historical Quarter, the name "White Wall Town" is very memorable.
Of course, there are many white-walled buildings, and the streets across the river are lovely, but there's more to it than that!
For example,
the Western-style building behind the bank that was actually in use until a few years ago. The stained crows are beautiful!
There are also many other buildings worth seeing, such as the brick building of Kurashiki Ivy Square on the outskirts of the Bikan Historical Quarter, and the Western-style building of the tourist information center, so be sure to check them out.
When you get tired of walking, we recommend taking out some food from a cute bakery and relaxing by the river!

Introducing Kurashiki Ivy Square
Kurashiki Ivy Square is a complex tourist facility located in the Bikan Historical Quarter in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture.
The site is large, and the exterior and standing trees of the original Kurashiki Spinning Mill (now Kurabo) from the Meiji period have been preserved and reused as much as possible. It houses a hotel, restaurant, experience facilities, and shops where you can purchase souvenirs such as Kurashiki crafts, folk crafts, and famous sweets.
The restaurant is often frequented by groups, so we recommend making a reservation even for lunch.
There is also a large parking lot, making it an easy spot to visit when sightseeing in Kurashiki.

[Kurashiki] Visit Achi Shrine
This shrine is located at the summit of Mount Tsurugata in the scenic area of Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture.
There are some steep steps from the torii gate to the main hall.
The shrine enshrines the three Munakata goddesses, who are responsible for safe voyages, as its main deity. The shrine is said to bring good fortune in road safety, safety at sea, beauty and health, improvement in the arts, and business prosperity.
The main hall has a cypress bark roof and is designated as a cultural property of Kurashiki City.
The charms here are also often cutely designed and come in lovely colors.
Even the fortune slips are cute.
If you visit Kurashiki, be sure to stop by.

[Kurashiki Tourism] A wonderful art museum that Okayama is proud of
A retro building quietly standing in the scenic area
- Ohara Museum of Art -
This is my favorite museum☺️
In addition to famous paintings that everyone knows, such as Claude Monet's Water Lilies and El Greco's Annunciation, which we saw in textbooks as children,
there are also works by Renoir, Cezanne, Gauguin, and Picasso❣️
The soft-colored paintings by Torajiro Kojima, who crossed the ocean to collect these paintings, are also very beautiful and worth seeing🖌️
You can visit the three buildings: the main building, the annex, the crafts and the Oriental Gallery. 👍
If you try to see it all at once, it's quite a lot and you'll gradually get full💦
But there's good news📣
Once you buy a ticket, the museum will stamp it for you, and it never expires✨
Enjoy the Bikan Historical Quarter to the fullest, going outside to see the surrounding scenery and taking a break for a peach parfait💞

💞Reasons why we recommend it: Not only the artworks, but the architecture and gardens are also worth seeing✨

A Relaxing Trip to Kurashiki
It takes about 10 minutes on foot from Kurashiki Station to reach the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter. Traditional Japanese houses line the streets, and the sound of the willow trees swaying by the river soothes the soul. There are souvenir shops and restaurants, attracting tourists from all over the country. At 10:00 AM, I visited a sweets shop called Kurashiki Momoko right as it opened and enjoyed a grape parfait. On weekdays, you can likely enter without waiting in line. At night, the main street is dimly lit by street lamps, and the alleys become completely dark, so please be cautious.
[Okayama Prefecture: Kurashiki] Autumn flavor parfait to feel the beginning of autumn
I went to Kurashiki Momoko, a sweets shop located in Kurashiki, a popular tourist spot in the fruit kingdom of Okayama. This shop is so popular that five new stores have opened in the Kurashiki area in just a few years. Each store has its own original menu. I tried the Persimmon Parfait, which was introduced in early September and uses plenty of persimmons, a taste of autumn. It was surprisingly sweet and made me feel the autumn. It's only available for a limited time, so hurry! Visited: September 2024
