We flew in and out of Chitose Airport when visiting Hokkaido and Sapporo. It is a small airport but packed with plenty of fun stuff. There are souvenir shops selling Hokkaido treats, clothing stores such as Uniqlo, and Pokemon-themed shops. My favorite was Smile Road, which included a Royce’s Chocolate World - there was an exhibit on the history of chocolate, and even a factory where you could watch workers behind the glass making chocolate and see the different processes involved. #timetotravel #japan #hokkaido #chitose

We stayed five nights at the Fairfield by Marriott Hokkaido Neganuma. It was fairly close to Chitose Airport. The hotel is very quiet and very clean. The building and facilities are new, and the staff are very polite and professional - they helped us book taxis and answer other questions.
