#wheretogo Sekinchan is a small town located about 1 hour drive from Kuala Lumpur. It is famous for its landscape of paddy fields and sumptuous of seafoods. It was an impromptu visit with buddies after a breakfast in Kuala Lumpur as the weather was great that day. So we car pool all the way to Sekinchan. We went in Dec, and it wasn't actually the best month to visit the paddy field as the harvest season has just passed. Nevertheless, we just try our luck and it turned out to be a great outing. The started with strolling around the padi field in a rented rickshaw bike. Then we stopover to the Paddy Gallery. This place is definitely worth the visit. It is a rice processing factory + gallery + museum where visitors get to learn everything about the life cycle of paddy from the seeds to the rice we eat. It also showcased the evolution of paddy plantation. At the end, visitors can also purchase ready packed rice there. Besides the gallery, visitor can also visit a Chinese temple nearby. Oh, don't forget to get yourself a nice icy coconut "float" (with ice cream), perfect drink under the blazing sun! #wheretogo Sekinchan is a small town located in the Sabak Bernam District of Selangor. About 1.15 hour driving distance from Kuala Lumpur. It's actually a fishing village, but more renowned for its beautiful paddy fields. I had visited there with a group of friends 2 days ago, the paddy field is a vast expanse of green, the endless greenary was really make my day! It will turns into a golden sea during the harvest period around 1.5 months later, I'll be visiting there again by then. My local friend told me an interesting note, after a cold or rainy night, usually the next morning will have a spectacular low laying fog during sunrise. I went on 7 December and the paddy fields were ready to be harvested. I managed to capture the beautiful golden yellow paddies before a combine harvester came. The unique concrete looking building in the middle of the fields is Hay! cafe, opened since 2022. It serves rice, pasta, coffee and cakes. It is closed on Monday, opening hours: Weekday 9am to 4 30pm Weekend 9am to 6.30pm A very cosy place to cool off and grab a bite. We went to the Paddy Gallery and saw how they measured truck loads of harvested rice. There was a pile of it on the ground too. The main tourist attraction is the Sekinchan Wishing Tree. Take how many ribbons you need at the temple, write the names of the people you want to bless and make a donation. The higher the ribbon goes, the more likely the wishes will come true. Whether it will come true or not, it was a fun challenge. The tree is in the same location as Pantai Redang Beach, just opposite of each other. I went during noon and it was low tide. The shoreline is covered with seashells. Shop at Ah Ma house for traditional snacks and dry goods. The place is an old school setting, where you can find old furniture and antiques on display. #malaysia #sekinchan #travel

📍 Hay, Sekinchan sekinchan is famous of its paddy field. however it is important to research about the season, as the view would not be as green all the time. the cafe is industrial themed, most seating is outdoor, the indoor seating that has camping vibes os located at the back of the cafe, far from the counter but it is ok because we can order and pay from QR code. the garlic bread and mushroom soup is one of the best i have ever tried! so good! their drinks are just average. price is reasonable. #cafe #nature #sekinchan #foodie

Cozy and comfortable rooms with a small balcony overlooking lush greenery Paddy fields. Room was very clean, bathroom was also very clean and they do provide a hair dryer. The stay was good here, however, the main attraction of this place is the scenic paddy fields, driving through the not so wide roads, seeing all green paddy fields on both sides, an absolute treat to eyes. This kind of view is only available in certain months, so check with the hotel prior to booking.
