[Gunma] Mount Akagi, where you can enjoy the autumn foliage of the mountains
Mount Akagi is a famous mountain that is counted among the 100 famous mountains of Japan and the 100 famous mountains of the Kanto region.
The highest peak is Mount Kurohiyama at 1,828m⛰️
Mount Akagi is the name of one large volcanic body, and there is no peak with the same name. It consists of Mount Komagatake, Mount Jizo, Mount Choshichiro, etc.🙌
There are swan boats and rowing boats, and there are many restaurants on the lakeside, so I think it's a place where you can enjoy sightseeing even though it's in the mountains😊
You can enjoy the autumn leaves from late October to early November🍁
You can do everything from hiking to full-scale mountain climbing, so it's a recommended place for both sightseeing and mountain climbing!

[Gunma] Mysterious lake "Konuma" surrounded by somma mountains
Konuma in Fujimi-cho, Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture
A crater lake formed by volcanic activity of Mt. Choshichiro, located at an altitude of 1,450 meters! !
It is about 1 kilometer in circumference, and you can go around it in about 30 to 40 minutes 🙌
The autumn leaves are at their best from late October to early November, and a fantastic space spreads out before you 🍁
There is a parking lot nearby, so it is a spot that is easy to access by car 🚗
In winter, the snow changes the scenery again, and azaleas and other flowers bloom around May 😊

[Akagi Shrine/Gunma Prefecture] A shrine with a view of Mount Akagi and the lake
Akagi Shrine in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture
𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃
This shrine is located on Kotorigashima Island, which juts out into Lake Onuma near the summit of Mount Akagi.
The sacred object is Mount Akagi
The enshrined deity is Princess Akagi (Akagi Daimyojin)
It is the head shrine of all Akagi shrines across the country.
Right next to the lake is a magnificent vermilion-painted shrine building,
which is very conspicuous.
Perhaps the weather on the day we went was good, as there was a fresh breeze and the water surface sparkled with light, making for a pleasant visit.

[Benten Shrine/Gunma Prefecture] A shrine on the banks of Lake Onuma in Akagi
Benten Shrine in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture
𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃
A shrine located on the banks of Lake Onuma in Akagi.
It is enshrined as a sub-shrine of Akagi Shrine.
Right next to it is the site of the old Akagi Shrine, and you can see the stone monument and the site indicating it, as well as the sacred sake that was offered there.
At Benten Shrine,
there is a stone torii gate, a stone slab monument explaining the shrine's history, and a small shrine.
Beyond that is the beautiful and expansive Lake Onuma.
The sunlight shining into the clear water made me feel the beauty of nature.

Autumn leaves at Kakumanbuchi Falls
Mount Akagi is home to a variety of natural wonders, but the most spectacular of these is Kakumanbuchi. The beautiful marshland, also known as Little Oze, has a promenade where you can take a stroll. Although it is not as grand as Onuma and Konuma, the scenery is just as complete.

Autumn leaves in the mountains of Mount Akagi
Mount Akagi is one of the famous peaks in northern Kanto. Although Mount Akagi is a general term for multiple mountains, let me just write Mount Akagi here. The path from the base to the ridgeline is easy to walk on. It's a long climb, but the autumn leaves along the way are soothing. When you reach the ridgeline, you'll feel a great sense of openness.

Akagi Shrine (Sanyasawacho, Maebashi City)
There are three Akagi Shrines in Gunma Prefecture alone, with Mount Akagi as the object of worship, and this one is located at the foot of Mount Akagi. The date of its founding is unknown, but it is known to have been here since ancient times. It is a little dark, perhaps because it is located in a cedar forest, but this creates a solemn atmosphere.

Autumn leaves on Mount Akagi (Mt. Komagatake)
Mount Akagi is one of the three mountains of Jomo, along with Mount Haruna and Mount Myogi. Like Mount Haruna, it is a collective name for multiple mountains. It is a famous peak chosen as one of the 100 most famous mountains in Japan, and there is a variety of rich natural scenery within the mountain, including Lake Onuma. This is a photo of Mount Komagatake, which is part of that range.
