The Mysterious Kowloon Flour Mill - "Flour Mill Appearance"
Pink Wheat Appears
It is architecture, as well as life; it is photography, as well as text; it is an intersection of multiple arts and aesthetics.
The Kowloon Flour Mill has always been a mysterious existence. It is unknown whether it is still in operation, and there is very little information and mention of it.
——— Until Hong Kong Yimei x Artellex opened a window for us
This is a rare opportunity for this flour mill, the only surviving flour mill in Hong Kong that has stood for 60 years, to make its debut.
Come and take a peek inside it.
Hong Kong Yimei’s photography and text add warmth and softness to the neat industrial style.
|Extremely beautiful and beautiful words|
"Blue daffodils, green gladiolus, and red plum blossoms are the patterns on the fabric bags of Kowloon Flour Mill. The names are based on the homonyms of "Flour" and the romantic fragrance of flour."
"The flour that shapes all kinds of things, from coarse wheat to fine powder, sifting out impurities, flying high in the air, growth is the same. Flour molds the migration of Hong Kong's industry, makes the city solid, fully ferments over time, bakes out a down-to-earth texture, and brings a satisfying taste of Hong Kong to generations."
I hope everyone will not miss it and support local manufacturing so that it will not become a lost beauty.
