📝 Personal Thoughts
The Chiayi Art Museum, abbreviated as Chiayi Art Museum, officially opened on November 7, 2020. The building was originally constructed in 1936 as the Chiayi branch of the Tobacco and Alcohol Monopoly Bureau, designed by Shitsuro Maezawa, and is a modern-style architecture. The exterior retains its historical appearance while incorporating modern design elements such as glass curtain walls and wooden structures, showcasing a unique blend of old and new.
The museum's interior includes exhibition halls, a library, a shop, a restaurant, and a garden, offering a diverse artistic experience. In addition to regularly hosting various art exhibitions, the museum actively promotes art education and outreach activities such as workshops and lectures, aiming to enhance the artistic literacy of its citizens.
Notably, the museum features an Eslite Bookstore, providing visitors with a rich selection of art books and cultural products, adding to the cultural atmosphere. Furthermore, the museum is located in the heart of Chiayi City, close to the Wenhua Road Night Market and Hinoki Village, making it ideal for a one-day cultural trip.
