I visited Jin Xuan Hong Kong Restaurant at Damansara Jaya for a dim sum breakfast, and it didn’t disappoint. The place was already packed when I arrived—a good sign. Inside, it had that classic, lively dim sum vibe: clattering teapots, carts being pushed around, and families chatting over bamboo steamers.
I ordered a spread of favourites—siew mai, har gow, chee cheong fun, and egg tarts—and everything came out hot, fresh, and flavorful. The har gow was plump and juicy, while the egg tarts had that perfect buttery crust. Pair it with a pot of Chinese tea and you’re in dim sum heaven.
It’s one of those places where you’ll always find locals coming back, which says a lot. Whether you’re a first-timer or a regular, the consistency and variety here are a real win.

🍜 Comforting Broth, But Offal Missed the Mark at Omega Pork Noodle – Mid Valley
Dropped by Omega Pork Noodle at Mid Valley Megamall for a quick bite and was greeted by friendly and welcoming service, which set a nice tone for the meal. The broth was definitely the highlight—flavorful, balanced, and comforting. It had that rich, porky depth you hope for in a bowl of pork noodles.
Unfortunately, the offal didn’t quite live up to expectations. The kidneys and liver were overcooked and tough, and the kidneys had a lingering aftertaste—suggesting they weren’t properly cleaned or prepped. The intestines also lacked that clean, springy texture you’d expect in a well-executed bowl.
Overall, it’s a decent spot for pork noodles if you’re here for the soup and friendly service. But if you’re picky about your offal, this may not hit the mark just yet. Hopefully they fine-tune their prep, because the broth alone shows potential.

#summervacay #华阳咖啡 #OrientalCoffee #PavilionBukitJalil #BukitJalilBreakfast #EggTartLovers #KopiTime #CafeInMall #MorningEats #KLFoodie #HiddenCafeKL
I visited 华阳 Oriental Coffee at Pavilion Bukit Jalil for breakfast, and it was a lovely way to start the day. Tucked away in a quieter corner of the mall, the café blends traditional charm with modern comfort—making it perfect for those who appreciate a bit of kopitiam nostalgia in a more stylish setting.
I went for their classic breakfast set with toast, soft-boiled eggs, and a hot cup of kopi—rich, bold, and just the way I like it. But what really stood out was their signature egg tart. Buttery and flaky on the outside, silky smooth custard on the inside—it was warm, freshly baked, and absolutely addictive. I couldn’t resist getting a second one!
The space is clean, cozy, and the service is quick and friendly—great for a relaxed morning before the mall crowd starts rolling in. Whether you’re here for coffee or a sweet treat, this place delivers.
Travel Tips & How to Get There:
• Best time to visit:
• Morning, ideal for a peaceful breakfast and fresh bakes.
• How to get there:

#summervacay #榴哥SS2 #SS2Durian #DurianSeason #MalaysiaFoodTrip #PenangEats #MusangKingHeaven #DurianLovers #TropicalFruits #KLFoodie #FoodieAdventure
If you’re a durian fan, then 榴哥SS2 is a must-visit spot! I dropped by during the evening and the moment I stepped in, the strong durian aroma hit me—in the best way possible. The place is clean, open-air, and filled with tables of people excitedly digging into piles of fresh durian.
I got to try Musang King, and wow—it was incredibly creamy, sweet, with that perfect bitter finish. The staff were super friendly and even offered small samples before I made my pick. What impressed me most was how fresh everything was. The durians were opened right in front of you, and if they weren’t up to standard, they’d replace them without hesitation.
Whether you come alone or with friends, it’s a great place to sit down, enjoy durian under the open sky, and bond over Malaysia’s king of fruits.
榴哥SS2 is more than just a durian stall—it’s an experience that brings locals and tourists together for one thing: seriously good durian.

🍽️ Malaysia’s Culinary Gems Under One Roof – Lot 10 Hutong Food Court
After a long 5-year hiatus, I finally returned to Lot 10 Hutong Food Court—and it was worth every bite. Tucked one level below the main floor of Lot 10, this food haven brings together famous street food stalls from all across Malaysia, from Penang to Ipoh.
Spoiled for choice, we eventually narrowed it down to claypot chicken rice, freshly made char siew chee cheong fun, Ipoh’s shredded chicken hor fun, and a couple of classic Hainan coffee and tea. Every dish delivered on flavor, and we cleared our plates without hesitation.
The food court wasn’t crowded during our visit, and we found seats easily. With air-conditioning and a clean, comfortable setting, it’s an ideal place to enjoy traditional Malaysian street food without the sweltering heat. There’s no way to try everything in one go—definitely worth repeat visits.

Char Siew Perfection at a Hidden Gem in Pavilion Damansara!
After a business appointment nearby, I found myself craving a good plate of wanton noodles and turned to Google Maps for help. That’s how I discovered Dai Cha Dim on Level 5 of Pavilion Damansara Heights.
It was already around 3pm, and the restaurant was completely quiet — almost as if I had the entire place to myself. The peaceful setting made for a relaxing solo lunch.
I ordered their signature wanton noodles and a pomelo mango sago for dessert. The char siew was a standout — tender, caramelized, and perfectly balanced between lean meat and fat. The noodles were springy and coated in a delicious sauce, while the wanton was generously filled and flavourful. The dessert rounded off the meal beautifully — refreshing, not overly sweet, and well prepared.
Prices were reasonable for the quality and portion. Overall, it was a satisfying meal in a comfortable and quiet setting. I’d gladly return for another solo lunch or even a casual catch-up with friends.

Beyond Ramen: Izakaya-Style Dining at IPPUDO Bangsar
We’ve always known IPPUDO for its rich, comforting bowls of ramen — but they’ve really stepped up by expanding their menu beyond noodles, embracing a more diverse izakaya-style concept. Our first taste of this in Penang left a great impression, and this time in Kuala Lumpur, it didn’t disappoint either.
We decided to skip the ramen and went for a selection of grilled skewers, a fresh salmon head, and a light salad. The grilled items were perfectly done, with just the right amount of char and smokiness. The salmon head was fresh and tender, while the salad balanced the meal nicely with its crisp vegetables and light dressing.
Though we didn’t order a lot (we’re not big eaters), it was more than enough and very satisfying. The cozy ambience paired with friendly service added to the pleasant dining experience. One of the servers was even kind enough to help us take some nice photos, which we always appreciate.
If you’re looking for a Japanese dinner that’s not just ramen, this branch of IPPUDO is worth checking out — well-executed food, lovely service, and a chill setting.

Casual Comfort at Ho Min San – A Taste of Hong Kong in Pavilion Damansara
Comforting Asian Flavours at Ho Min San – Pavilion Damansara Heights
Dropped by Ho Min San for a casual meal while exploring Pavilion Damansara Heights, and I must say, the restaurant delivered a satisfying experience overall.
The interior was clean and modern, with a cozy layout that made it easy to settle in. Service was prompt and efficient, though not particularly warm or enthusiastic. That said, everything we needed was attended to quickly, which is always appreciated.
The menu focused on comfort food with a Hong Kong–Macau twist, and we decided to go for their signature rice and noodle dishes. Portions were generous, and the food arrived fairly quickly. The lou shi fun with minced meat was hearty and had good wok hei, while the rice dishes were flavorful and paired well with their savoury sauces.
For drinks, we opted for their milk tea, which was rich and smooth—very much in line with traditional Hong Kong cha chaan teng offerings.
Prices were reasonable given the location, though perhaps just a touch above typical kopitiam pricing. Still, for a cleaner setting with air-conditioning and a mall environment, it made sense.
⸻
TL;DR:
✅ Tasty and comforting rice/noodle dishes
✅ Smooth, well-brewed milk tea
✅ Clean and comfortable dining space
⚠️ Don’t expect overly enthusiastic service
💵 Reasonable pricing for a mall-based eatery

Roast Duck Delight at Pavilion Damansara – The Travelling Duck
The Travelling Duck – Stylish Spot with Value Lunch Sets and Great Roast Duck
Tucked inside Pavilion Damansara Heights, The Travelling Duck is a beautifully decorated restaurant that immediately catches your eye with its charming duck-themed artwork and stylish interior.
We dropped by around 11am for an early lunch and were seated quickly. Their value lunch menu stood out right away—great price point with generous portions. I ordered the noodle soup with roast duck set, which came with chawanmushi, Chinese tea, and a dessert.
The roast duck itself was excellent—crispy skin, tender meat, and flavorful through every bite. It’s clearly the star of the show. The noodle soup, however, wasn’t quite to my taste. The broth lacked depth, and the noodles were just average. That said, the chawanmushi was smooth and well-seasoned, adding a nice touch to the set.
Service was fast and friendly, which made the overall dining experience very pleasant.
If you’re craving roast duck in a refined, comfortable setting—The Travelling Duck is worth a visit, especially for their lunch sets.

Michelin-Rated Delight at Soleil – A Hidden Gem in DC Mall
After checking out of Sofitel KL and with some time to spare before our flight, we wandered into DC Mall looking for a quality lunch spot — and stumbled upon Soleil, a restaurant proudly displaying its Michelin sign. What followed was an unexpectedly outstanding dining experience that left us wanting more.
We were warmly welcomed and promptly seated by Mr. Solaiman, whose service truly elevated our visit. Not only was he attentive, but his menu recommendations were on point, guiding us through some of Soleil’s best offerings.
Highlights of our meal included the blue crab appetizer, the perfectly crisp duck confit, and the tender Argentinian striploin — all beautifully plated and executed with finesse. We ended our meal with some well-crafted desserts, which provided the perfect sweet finish to a remarkable lunch.
In terms of value, Soleil impresses with its premium quality at reasonable prices. The attention to detail in both the service and the food easily justifies its Michelin recognition.

🥩 A5 Bliss on the Grill: Kampai Yakiniku’s Wagyu Feast Worth Savoring 🔥
If you’re looking for top-tier Japanese yakiniku in Kuala Lumpur, Kampai Yakiniku should be at the top of your list. We made a reservation through their website a day in advance, and upon arriving at 6 PM, we were promptly seated in a comfortable alfresco setting that was well-ventilated and relaxed.
From the start, service was outstanding. The staff—especially one crew member named Jonel (if I heard correctly)—were warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they were serving. Jonel made sure our ice green tea was always refilled, and checked in regularly to ensure we were taken care of.
We opted for the Wagyu Premium Buffet at RM299 per person, which offered unlimited servings of various cuts of Tokushima A5 wagyu. The moment the first plate arrived, we knew we were in for a treat. The marbling on the beef was immaculate, and every cut melted beautifully on the grill and in our mouths. We did the cooking ourselves at our table, which made the experience more personal and interactive.
To balance out the richness of the meat, we also ordered the salad, which provided the perfect refresh between rounds of indulgent wagyu. By the end of the meal, we had easily polished off about a kilogram of beef, and felt deeply satisfied.
Ample parking is available right outside the restaurant, making the whole experience hassle-free from start to finish.
⸻
Final Verdict
Kampai Yakiniku delivers a luxurious wagyu feast with warm hospitality and flawless execution. For anyone serious about authentic Japanese yakiniku, this place is a must-try.

Familiar Flavours, Upscale Ambience: Madam Kwan’s at Pavilion Damansara Heights
Madam Kwan’s at Pavilion Damansara Heights brings classic Malaysian comfort food to a stylish, upscale setting. It’s a great place for casual get-togethers or introducing visitors to local favourites, with both indoor and outdoor seating that offers a relaxed and comfortable vibe.
The signature nasi lemak—especially the bojari version—remains a highlight, offering rich, aromatic rice paired with well-seasoned proteins. The beef rendang, assam prawns, and chicken satay are also popular and consistently enjoyable. The prawn noodle soup impresses with its fragrant, flavorful broth.
However, not every dish hits the mark. Some diners find the curry chicken nasi lemak and char kway teow underwhelming, occasionally citing issues like saltiness or the use of frozen chicken. Service is generally efficient, but QR code ordering can lead to slower responses or order mix-ups. Staff are courteous, though some experiences lack the personal touch.
While prices are on the higher side, they reflect the brand’s established reputation and the location. Portions are generous, making it a worthwhile stop for those craving local dishes in a modern, mall environment.
⸻
Verdict:
A reliable spot for classic Malaysian flavours in a clean, contemporary space. Stick to their best-sellers like nasi lemak and prawn noodles for the most satisfying experience.

Nasi Lemak, Elevated: Nalé’s Upscale Take at Pavilion Damansara Heights
Nalé The Nasi Lemak Company at Pavilion Damansara Heights offers a refined, modern spin on Malaysia’s national dish. The restaurant blends local comfort food with premium presentation, making it an appealing spot for both locals and visitors seeking a stylish dining experience.
The space is inviting and well-decorated, with both indoor and outdoor seating options. Service is efficient, and QR-code ordering makes the process smooth and modern.
Their signature pandan-infused rice is fragrant and fluffy, forming the foundation of every plate. The ayam goreng (fried chicken) and ayam bakar (grilled chicken) are standout options, both juicy and well-marinated. Multiple sambal choices—classic, pineapple, hijau, and extra spicy—let diners customize the heat and flavour profile of their meal.
Other protein options include rendang lamb shank and grilled wagyu beef, which are cooked well and full of flavour. While delicious, some diners feel the premium meats are better appreciated on their own rather than paired with nasi lemak.
Portions are moderate and just right for a complete, satisfying meal. The overall flavour and execution are impressive, with high-quality ingredients used throughout.
Nalé is a great pick for those who want to enjoy nasi lemak in a comfortable, contemporary setting. While it may not replace a street-side classic, it definitely elevates the experience with thoughtful presentation, excellent sambal, and consistent execution.

Where to go in Kuala Lumpur for a good pot of old-school chicken claypot rice?
Traditional claypot chicken rice has always been one of my favorite dishes — the kind that stirs up comfort and nostalgia in every bite. Sadly, it’s becoming increasingly rare to find a stall that still cooks it the old-fashioned way over charcoal fire.
But tucked away in Kuala Lumpur is Heun Kee, a gem that continues to honor this timeless method. Here, the rice is cooked from scratch in claypots over glowing charcoal, just as it was meant to be. The result? A beautiful harmony of textures and flavors.
The chicken is tender, juicy, and deeply marinated, soaking up every bit of smoky essence. And then there’s the charred rice crust at the bottom — crispy, golden, and fragrant — the prized portion every claypot lover craves.
Best of all, this satisfying, soul-warming meal comes at an affordable price, and it’s no surprise that Heun Kee has earned the prestigious Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition.
If you find yourself in Kuala Lumpur and craving something honest and traditional, don’t miss this place. Heun Kee isn’t just a meal — it’s a reminder of how food cooked with time and heart always stands out.

Especially with a wonderful welcome with their signature warm chocolate chip cookie 🍪🤗
The room was a perfect blend of comfort and elegance, offering a peaceful retreat. What made it even more special was access to the Executive Lounge, where I enjoyed all-day light refreshments, a mini yet substantial spread of freshly cooked hot food, appetizers, and desserts in the evening, paired with free-flow alcohol to elevate the experience. 🍷🥂
Mornings started on a delicious note with their international breakfast buffet offering an extensive variety of dishes that catered to every palate including ice cream too! 🌍🍳🥞🍏🍛🍝🥗
Conveniently located in the heart of Johor Bahru, this prime spot made it easy to explore nearby malls, shop for your favorites, or simply enjoy the lively city vibe just minutes away. 🛍️🚶♀️
When it was time to unwind, I headed to the 13th-floor outdoor terrace overlooking the Straits of Johor featuring a recreational main pool, kids’ pool, and a jacuzzi—all perfect for relaxation while soaking in the beautiful views. 😎🏊♂️
For those looking to stay active, the state-of-the-art TechnoGym overlooking the pool was a standout, making workouts enjoyable and inspiring. 💪🏽

Ultimate Luxury Beach Resort on Private Island in Malaysia 🏝️
Situated along the Straits of Malacca, just 3 miles off Malaysia’s West coast, is this private island paradise nestled amidst an ancient rainforest that’s been two million years in the making, where sandy beaches greets emerald waters. 🏝️
Only a small portion of the island has been developed to host this tranquil luxury resort, while the rest remains a thriving sanctuary for wildlife. From long-tailed macaques swinging through the trees and oriental pied hornbills perched among the branches to white-bellied sea eagles soaring overhead and large monitor lizards basking on rocky outcrops, nature flourishes in perfect harmony with its surroundings. 🌳 🦅🐒🦎
Every moment at Pangkor Laut Resort feels like a dream 🥰 .
