If you've ever been to Bali, you've likely heard of Ayana Resort 🇮🇩. I went to Korea for the first time 🇰🇷 ◇Arrived at Incheon Airport I had breakfast at the airport in Japan, but I was hungry. I had some time before my reserved A’REX boarding time, so I charged up my banana milk first to get a taste of Korea 🍌 ◇Seoul Station I decided to go to Hongdae, so I put my luggage in the locker. I got some Kam Japan, which I had been wanting to try, and walked around a bit. Kam Japan was quite sweet and chewy! It was potatoes, so I was full. After that, I raised funds (exchanged money) without worrying about the exchange rate 💰 I mainly used credit cards, so I only exchanged a minimum amount of money, and most of all, I was busy with my travels, so I didn't want to waste time!! I looked it up later, but it wasn't that bad. (I do care) ◇Arrived at Hongdae It's a fashionable town with lots of miscellaneous goods and clothing stores. I went to object, stylenanda, and MUSINSA HONGDAE. After going down the traditional route, I went to a restaurant that looked good on instinct🏬 Every place was good, so it was really a race against time... ◇Dinner When I walk, I always get hungry. (Eating to my heart's content) I had decided to go to BHC Chicken, but I never got there. I looked it up on the map, but all I got was a multi-tenant building. So I was in a big pinch! I became a chicken refugee🍗 I saw a restaurant that looked delicious, but my head was completely filled with chicken. So I ran into the restaurant I found and went in!! ! ! BBQ Chicken & Beer Hongdae Vanga (BBQ 치킨 홍대반가점) I was just going to eat a little and have ramen for dinner, but I was shocked when a mountain of chicken was brought out🫨 I kept going even though I was full!! ! ! I ate a lot of delicious chicken. (I couldn't finish it so I asked for takeaway.) ◇ Night stroll in Hongdae I was so full from all the chicken that I didn't want to take the train... So I took a walk around the city at night♪ Then I found a churros shop🌸 Huh?? Where was the chicken, but I had a churro in my hand🖐️ ◇ Back to the hotel I was satisfied after all that, so I went back to the hotel. What the heck is this!?! Hotel PJ Myeongdong was amazing. I was tired from walking so I took a break and had some more chicken on the balcony🍗 I wondered whether to sleep, but I'd heard that Korea is fun at night, so I decided to go to Myeongdong at night to use up some chicken. ◇ Night stroll in Myeongdong It was within walking distance from the hotel so I went to Myeongdong. From the rumored DAISO to Oriyan, and supermarkets, I walked around and shopped as long as the stores were open 🛒 As expected, there are fewer people at night, but there are no products... I was almost empty-handed, so I bought some small snacks, and checked the locations so I can shop smoothly tomorrow ✅ ◇Back to the hotel Anyway, the stores started to close, so I went home. As the title says, I went to the border between North Korea and China! Dandong is a city in the northeastern region of China. I took the high-speed train (Shinkansen) from Dalian to visit this place. 🚄 As soon as I got off the train, I saw SWAT and soldiers from the police, so it had the atmosphere I expected, but in reality it has the image of a laid-back tourist city. There were no Japanese people, let alone young Chinese people, and there were many older Chinese tour groups. The border bridge is relatively close from the station and can be reached by bus or on foot. You can easily purchase tickets (20 yuan) at the ticket counter on the bridge without having to show your passport. Of course, you can also get tickets online on Trip.com! You can take a photo of North Korea and China at the same time from the bridge, so be sure to go there. There are many souvenir shops around the bridge. There are some around the station, but I recommend buying them near the bridge, which has a wide variety of souvenirs◎ My schedule was to visit the bridge → buy souvenirs → eat at a North Korean restaurant. Recommended Russian restaurant in Harbin🇷🇺 A cute restaurant on Central Avenue. The price is reasonable, about 100 yuan for soup, beef stew, and piroshki. I actually wanted to order salmon, but the piroshki was too big and I was so full that I couldn't order more🫃 This time we ate the above for two people, but if I was alone, I would probably order soup, appetizer, and about three meat dishes💭 There are also dance and instrument performance shows inside the restaurant, which are very interesting to watch. Here is a list of recommended spots from my trip to Taipei, Taichung, Tainan, and Kaohsiung! [Taipei] 1. Taipei 101 The tallest building in Taiwan, with many high-end brands inside! Din Tai Fung, located in Taipei 101, always has a 1-2 hour wait, so you can save time by getting tickets on trip.com or going to another store! 2. Raohe Street Night Market This is my favorite night market out of all the night markets I've visited in Taiwan every night! You should definitely try their pepper buns! The entrance is right there, so please line up! I think it would be better to go to this night market every day than to other night markets, so I like this night market the best! 3. Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall It's huge! It's so big that it makes you realize just how amazing he was! There are also exhibitions inside, so if you have time, you might want to go in? (They have on display the very old car and clothes that Chiang Kai-shek rode in) [Taichung] 1. Miyahara Eye Clinic This is an eye clinic run by a Japanese man named Miyahara, and has been renovated to operate as a souvenir shop and restaurant. The wait time at the restaurant is long, so I recommend eating ice cream at the nearby annex (the Fourth Credit Cooperative)! (They serve the same thing) 2. It can only be purchased at specific locations and includes airport-to-city travel plus unlimited rides. ⚠︎ Note that the pass is only valid on certain lines, so check if your desired tourist spots are covered. For instance, Batu Caves is not included. Timetable ⏰ You can find the timetable at the station or via Google search. However, trains do not always run on schedule, so be cautious. For example, a train marked as arriving in 10 minutes might show up in just 2 minutes. ⚠︎ Always confirm the destination of the train before boarding. Platforms 🚉 Major tourist spots often have clear signage, so you don’t need to worry about getting lost. If unsure, ask station staff—they’ll point you in the right direction and provide guidance in English. Route Map 🛤️ You can check the route map via Google search or inside the train. The information is accurate, so displaying your current location and destination on Google Maps can help ensure you’re on the right track. ⚠︎ Be careful with similar station names, as mishearing or partial understanding might lead to getting off at the wrong stop. Train Etiquette 📳 There are women-only cars available. It’s best to avoid eating and drinking and to keep quiet while on the train. (Although I didn’t see any prohibition signs, no one was eating, drinking, or chatting loudly.) Quick Notes 📝 The air conditioning is strong, so if you’re sensitive to cold or traveling long distances, having a jacket or shawl can be reassuring. 【Personal Experience】 I purchased a token once but mainly used credit card tapping for convenience—no need for currency exchange. I didn’t use buses during this trip because they require a special card. As for the "KL Travel Pass," while it’s convenient, I found it somewhat overpriced. If you plan to use the train from the airport to the city and have a packed sightseeing schedule, it might be worth considering.
