[Kyoto ⇒ Atami] If you are planning a trip from Kansai to Atami ①
#MyTravelItinerary [Days 1-2] 2-day, 1-night trip for two
-For those planning a trip from Kansai to Atami, Shizuoka-
・If you're having trouble planning your trip, try making a plan based on my actual trip❣️
I'll tell you about my detailed experience, which you won't know until you actually go🍀
~Day 1~
8:10-11:01 Shinkansen Kodama Kyoto ⇒ Atami
・I hadn't had breakfast, so I bought persimmon leaf sushi at Kyoto Station and had a leisurely breakfast on the Shinkansen😆ᩚ
11:30-16:00 Lunch & MOA Museum & Eating
After putting our bags in the coin locker at Atami Station, we went to Irochaya, a popular place for fresh sashimi and dried fish, for lunch🍴
The set meals and rice bowls are popular at lunchtime, but even for adults, the portions are quite large, so make sure you go hungry💪
There is a bus from Atami Station to go to the MOA Museum, but depending on the time of day, there may be a long line, so if you want to get a seat, it's better to get there a little earlier than the scheduled time🙆♀️
We bought a lot of things around Atami Station for snacks before dinner and dessert after dinner. Among them, Atami pudding is a must!! You can buy ice packs, so it will last for a few hours.
17:00 Stay at Yamaki Ryokan
End of Day 1.
[My experience]
I had persimmon leaf sushi for breakfast around 8:00, but the amount of lunch was larger than I expected, so I think it would have been better to have a lighter breakfast💦
As for the coin lockers, the ones inside the station were almost full, so it's better to know where they are in advance.
When taking the bus, it's not far from the station to the museum, but you have to climb a steep hill several times on the way, so if you have weak legs, be careful. (There is almost no signal at the MOA Museum)
~Day 2~
10:00 Check out of Yamaki Ryokan
10:30-13:43 Eating around Atami Station & Souvenirs
・I had abalone skewers at Atami Bata-an, Atami Gelato King, and Tokuzomaru for lunch. I took some Atami Bata-an home to eat on the Shinkansen.
・As for souvenirs, I mainly bought dried fish and Japanese sweets such as Izu no Odoriko. While eating and buying souvenirs, time passes before you know it🤣
13:43-15:37 Shinkansen Atami⇒
・Here I ate the Atami Buta-an I had just bought. It was so delicious that I ate it all up right away.
[My Experience]
There are so many shops and varieties that you won't have any trouble buying souvenirs.
It would be easier if you decided what to buy in advance, but sometimes it's hard to decide. So I'd like to introduce "Izu no Odoriko" as a souvenir I bought for my family and friends.
It is a representative Izu confectionery named after the masterpiece "Izu no Odoriko" by Nobel Prize-winning author Yasunari Kawabata. It is made by mixing white bean paste with roasted walnuts, wrapping it in Western-style sable dough and baking it.

💞This time, I introduced Kyoto ⇒ Atami on [Days 1-2] as #MyTravelItinerary, but actually, as [Days 2-3], I went from Atami to Nagoya to Kyoto, getting off at Nagoya Station once along the way, and stayed for 2 nights and 3 days.
I hope that this unconventional 2 nights and 3 days trip will be helpful,
so if you are planning a trip from Kansai to Atami, I hope you will also take a look at ②.
