Exuding an elegant floral ambience, Sole’s fancy (but affordable) set menu makes it a great date spot for special occasions, which is why we came here to celebrate the holidays away from the crowd 🎄🎅🏻🎁 [Soup] Full of sweet caramelized onions and a mushy Brioche baguette with melted cheese, the light yet hearty French onion soup was my personal fave 🧅 The daily soup was a creamy truffle mushroom bisque sprinkled with parsley - great for dipping the warm sourdough bread 🍞 [Starter] A refreshing appetizer, the burrata cheese with mellow tomatoes, basil and thyme oil was definitely swoon-worthy! The chicken liver pate with port wine jelly had a melt-in-your-mouth texture and rich flavor, but we needed to pair each bite with some sourdough to neutralize the saltiness [Main Course] The sous vide sirloin steak well-exceeded our expectations! With a medium doneness level, the tender meat was evenly cooked to perfection. Loved the buttery pomme mousseline on the side too The confit salmon was wonderfully soft and moist, contrasting starkly with the crunchy potatoes and green beans under the beurre blanc foam. The yuzu bits on top added a slight tanginess that further elevated the flavor. [Dessert] Under a layer of crisped golden sugar crust, the creamy custard base went well with the vanilla ice cream, strawberries and nuts - aesthetically presented and absolutely delicious! There were 6 lanes and you get to climb twice (the ones on the right are easier) 🧗🏻‍♀️ (4) Waterslide Park We got to have the slides all to ourselves and didn’t have to queue at all, but that was because it was freezing (luckily they have a shower with hot water right beside) 🥶 The purple and blue slides were my fave 💜💙 (5) Complimentary craft workshops There were several workshops where the friendly staff taught us to make all sorts of arts and crafts, such as a 3D Christmas card and a Nordic Santa Clause 🎅🏻🎄 (6) Unlimited Free Food Out of the 3 inclusive buffets, we liked The Lido most, as it had the greatest variety in terms of food with sometimes even a special surprise, such as ice cream and tacos! Located in the quiet neighborhood of Cheung Sha Wan, @labarra_csw is a small Spanish restaurant offering amazingly authentic tapas It was quite packed when we visited during lunch hours, but we still got seats at the bar right in front of the friendly chef who handed us a complimentary tapas of tomato bread 🍅 The lunch set consisted of an entree, main dish, dessert (Italian vanilla gelato) and drinks (+$15 for wine 🥂) [Gambas al Ajillo] A classic Spanish tapas done well with four plump shrimps bathed in olive oil and garlic chips. The red pepper added a slightly spicy kick, so I had to pair each bite with some crusty sourdough bread 🍞 [Squid Croquette] A wonderful blend of complimentary tastes and contrasting textures: the chewiness of finely chopped squid bites; the creaminess of the molten squid ink and lobster stock mixture; and crispiness of the dark outer coating - definitely a must order 😍 [Seafood Paella] Topped with local fresh seafood such as shrimps, mussels and clams, the firm rice was deeply infused with lobster stock for ultimate flavor. Today I’m a day off and winter is around the corner. So this is the best time to go to hot ♨️ springs. One of my favorite Hot Springs places in Taipei is Emperor Spa. Why is favorite? Because is cheap, good service, private rooms. And the price also included a food voucher. The portion is super big, and the food is tasty. Taipei Main Station is a train station in Taipei. The building itself looks very unique and grand. Inside a lot of small restaurants and coffee shops. Weekend crowded with students, who were just seated on the floor of the Main Hall. On the ground floor, you can enter to Underground Mall. Usually, I try to skip this place if I walk around. Because many homeless people are around. It makes me feel so sad 😔 #beyondborders

Today I went shopping in CITYLINK Shopping Mall in Nangang District of Taipei. Mall has a great choice of different restaurants and coffee shops. And I choose to eat Vietnamese food in “Only Pho You”. And I super regret. I was supposed to have nice photos and nice food and I didn't get any of it. I ordered their signatory dish Traditional Beef Combo Pho. The portion super small and tastes are like chicken powder. Very disappointed #gourmetsummer #beyondborders

One of the new aquarium Park in Taiwan. The place is truly wonderful. You can spend hours watching beautiful fish 🐟. Xpark is very easy to reach by speed train 🚅 or MRT. The entrance fees are not so cheap but have discounts for the students. I booked tickets in advance via App. Park located inside the outlet mall, so after that can spend some time shopping #beyondborders

One of the unique hotels in Taipei - The Grand Hotel, Taipei. From the first sign, I did even not realize that this is a hotel. From far away it looks like a big temple. But service inside the hotel is not so unique as its building. The rooms are a bit outdated, nothing special. The swimming pool is far away from the hotel building. If you want to use the sauna, you have to pay more money. The food in the hotel was also not so wow. #hoteldeals #staycations #beyondborders

I visited 波上宮 on my last trip to Okinawa, Japan. We were going there by car, so it was a bit difficult to find a parking place nearby. This place for me was unique. First of all, you have to wash your hands, before you go to a temple 🕍 to make a wish. After you have to put some 🪙 coins into the box and make your wish according to the instructions in the picture. Xi Shi Chinese Restaurant is located on the Ground floor of the Green World Hotel, Taipei. The restaurant is newly renovated and just recently opened. Food quality was okay, portions are the big, rich choice of dishes. The second floor of restaurants has private dining rooms, ideal for family and friends gatherings. Dragon 🐉 and Tiger 🐅 Pagodas in Kaohsiung is one the must-visit places in Kaohsiung. It's a super amazing place. As I understood, you have to enter the Pagoda from Dragon 🐲 mouth and walk up and down those 2 Pagodas. And you have to exit from the mouth of Tiger 🐅. And you have to make a wish... I walked all the way up and down, and I hope my wish will become true soon. #beyondborders

Another spot in South Jakarta, to be precise in Antasari. This coffeeshop was previously on Jln. Prince Antasari also goes by the name "Ngopile" and changes his name to @kafelapanpuluh With semi-industrial interior and outdoor with a view of a residential area. Plus the canopy roof makes the shadow look really pretty. Moreover, the afternoon is really beautiful here 😍 The drink that you must try is the ice matcha latte and the many variants of the special tea. Whenever we pass by @sushanjifansusan, there always seems to be a bunch of people outside the restaurant either waiting to dine in or get their takeaway orders, so we came a bit earlier than the dinner crowd to try out their Singapore and Malaysian dishes 🇸🇬🇲🇾 [Hainan Half Chicken Set] This classic set came with a bowl of soothing winter melon soup and fragrant oil rice (or plain rice if you want to skip the chicken fat). We were feeling pretty hungry, so we devoured all the succulent tender chicken in no time 🐔 Apart from the boneless pieces, there was also a juicy chicken wing that I enjoyed dipping into the sweet soy sauce. The ginger scallion sauce was on the mild side while the chilli sauce was too spicy for my delicate taste buds. [Free Range Chicken Rice with White Pepper Bak Kut Teh ] The free range chicken was topped with fried shallots for more flavor, so essentially there was no need to dip any of the condiments. The cucumber slices and bean sprouts added a crunchy texture to the dish 🥒 As for the white pepper bak kut teh, it was rather pungent and spicy, but less medicinal and herbal than the Malaysian-style version. The tofu puffs had absorbed the rich fragrant broth that was super filling😋 [Iced Young Coconut] Don’t think I’ve really been keeping track, but this is most probably one of the best young coconuts I’ve ever had! True to its name, the sweet coconut water really was ice cold, making it a refreshing drink perfect for a hot summer night 🥥 [Milo Dinosaur] If you’re wondering, the ‘dinosaur’ refers to a big scoop of undissolved Milo powder added on top of the iced chocolate malt drink. And if you look closely, you’ll see that there’s even a pinch of colorful sprinkles in this one.
