I would highly recommend this Ming Chao Bar that located in the Highline bar street as they are selling the cheapest sichuan dishes aside of beers such as Shredded Potato, Tomato Egg and Mapo Tofu. Best thing is, the portion is not big so it is a good choice if you are only 2 - 3 people travelling together. Alternatively, you can test a lot of different dishes at once without worrying if you can finish everything. Love Rice Noodle Restaurant located at the junction between Prat Avenue and Chatham Road South, Tsim Sha Tsui. I tried this new dish listed in the menu. I saw 2 dish that looks delicious. The 1st is Rice Noodle with Homemade fish tofu in Si Chuan Ma La Soup with tag "The real deal". Hmmm seems that it's really spicy 🌶🔥. If you want to measure your level, you may try this one 😎. There’s some opening promotion so it’s the best time to try out without paying a bomb at the main restaurant. There’s a queue forming but the restaurant was only 20-30% filled. I guess the cashier for order taking was really slow. We ordered the Plant-based Mapo Don and Noodles and chose the lowest level of spiciness. The food did not take too long to arrive. The Mapo tofu topping is quite generous and covered almost the whole plate. While the tofu is indeed smooth, it’s just too spicy despite just at level 1 spiciness. Got a moment I thought it’s “Mala” instead! My tongue became numb and I washed down a can of drink at one shot to stop sweating from the spiciness. Jinli Alley was definitely bigger than other alleys I’ve visited before in Chengdu. It was extremely charming, I saw many colorful trees and small shops. Sichuan Opera was amazing, being my first time here I was very surprised, I had never seen something like this before. The shows lasts about one hour, and it’s very entertaining, even for kids, but if you don’t speak Mandarin it may kind of difficult since there are some spaces where they do a comedy.
