Now from We heard it wasn’t actually a floating market in the traditional sense, but rather a land-based market with vendors lining the canal. It was established in the 1980s by the local community along the Chao Phraya River as a water-based market selling traditional Thai food and souvenirs from boats. The market boomed in popularity with the tourism boom, but this also brought challenges like pollution and waste management. Conservation efforts and community development projects were implemented to address these issues and promote sustainable tourism practices. 🇹🇭Bangkok Beats and Bites🇹🇭 This is the “Venice Of Thailand”. Being in Bangkok numerous times, we never ventured out here😊so made sure to include this on our itinerary this time! But first, some food coz we are hungry! We ate at this very native-like restaurant by the canal called Khun Aoi’s Kitchen. Extensive menu, wr had their Green Curry Pasta, Tom Yum Fried Rice and Pad Thai—we loved the Tom Yum Fried Rice the most as it very aromatic and flavorful! Atmosphere here is really quiet and nice, by the river with boats passing by and rattan wooden furnishings. Staff was also very nice and service is fast. It was also very nice to see boats and people pass by as well the fish in river. Also had a special spring roll only available here it was soooo good! There are also other foodstall right at the entrance so grab a bite before or after visiting! #Science Park, took photos everywhere and then went to a restaurant with recreational facilities, Meraviglia Bar e Ristorante. The recreational area is divided into indoor and outdoor areas. #Indoor mainly includes the cooker, the library 📚, and the baby slide. However, there is only a hard mat under the slide, so parents should pay attention to whether their children are suitable for playing. The general laughed non-stop while playing with the cooker. 😄 #Outdoor is a facility for exercising large muscles, including an airplane-shaped rocking board, a tree house, a slide, and a trampoline. #summervacay My summer trip to Hokkaido brought me to the vibrant city of Sapporo, and I've put together some photos from all the places I visited. Strategic Stay & Sightseeing Upon arriving at New Chitose Airport, I opted to stay near JR Sapporo Station. This was a smart move for easy travel, especially when leaving, as I could simply take the JR directly to the airport with all my packed luggage. My explorations around the city included: Former Hokkaido Government Office (北海道旧厅): I even found the Crayon Shin-chan photo spot there! Suwa Shrine (諏訪神社): Here, I tried the unique omikuji (fortune slips) that reveal text when dipped in water and disappear as they dry. I also bought an adorable chubby bird omamori (charm). Odori Park (大通公园): The weather was incredibly pleasant, making it perfect for sitting and enjoying the breeze in this open park. I also snapped a photo with the nearby Sapporo Clock Tower (记时台). Shiroi Koibito Park (白色恋人工厂): A delightful visit where I tasted beer and ice cream, and even made a refrigerator magnet. Hokkaido University (北海道大学): This campus is surprisingly vast, and I even discovered live dairy cows in its furthest reaches! Hokkaido Shrine (北海道神宫): I tried my luck with an omikuji here and wrote a wish on an ema (votive tablet). Sapporo Beer Garden & Museum (啤酒博物馆): A highlight for beer lovers! I sampled three different beers for 1200 yen. Souvenirs, Food & Future Plans By the end of my trip, I'd bought all the plushies I could find, stocked up at drugstores, and savored delicious soup curry. #summervacay We were eager to try Jeju Hairtail fish, so we headed to Jeju Galchi Handam as per recommendation. Located on Aewol Cafe Street in one of alley streets Bomnal cafe . Jeju Galchi Handam quickly became one of our favorite dining spots for Hairtail fish! It wasn't crowded since we arrived early after enjoying coffee at Bomnal cafe and taking a leisurely stroll along the beach. We noticed a wall adorned with celebrity signatures! We ordered the set menu, which included both grilled and braised hairtail fish - a match made in heaven! The set came with abalone porridge, stir-fried pork, grilled mackerel, steamed egg, seaweed rice, and more. The grilled mackerel was a highlight among the side dishes, with its plump, chewy texture and perfect seasoning. The stars of the show were finally served. The grilled fish was served sizzling hot with a perfectly charred exterior and tender, flaky flesh. The braised Hairtail fish was part of a hearty seafood medley featuring prawns, squid, and abalone, all slow-cooked in a rich and savory broth. The staff came to remove the bones and cut the fish into smaller pieces - such thoughtful service! Each bite was a delight with a mix of textures and flavors that left us wanting more. We chose to have our lunch here after seeing that the YUN hotel’s restaurant does not serve dim sum. This restaurant does not serve dim sum either, but it offers wonderful views of the beach. The food isn’t too bad, but nothing to write home about. The only issue we had was the families there with children screaming, making it quite unbearable for us to have our quiet time at lunch. We had coffee there and spent a leisurely afternoon reading their books. On our weekend travel to Nong Khai from Loei city, we stopped at this magical small town called Sangkhom. It is located in Nong Khai district along the Mekong river. There are multiple resultants serving mookrata, boar noodles and Isan food. These restaurants have seating towards the river for scenic pictures while enjoying the food. A little away from the town is the sky walk. Even though it’s very small, the views from the sky walk are simply breath taking. The Sangkhom town can also viewed as a Birds Eye view from the sky walk I spent 2 hours at this place but I wish to stay more, may be next time.
