Nostalgic Charm of Taipei's Hidden Gem: Da Yuan Huan Complex Building
Da Yuan Huan Complex Building is a corner of Taipei forgotten by time. If you don't specifically walk in, it's hard to imagine that it hides such a nostalgic place. Later, I discovered that this place was also one of the filming locations for the movie 'Your Name Engraved Herein'.
As soon as you step into the Da Yuan Huan Complex Building, it's like traveling back to Taipei's past. The shops on the first floor are arranged in a maze-like manner, reminiscent of the Wan Nian Building in Ximending or the Dinghao Shopping Center, filled with the vibe of old malls from over 20 years ago. Most of the shops here specialize in selling figurines, old stamps, and coins, each one like a small time capsule, truly full of nostalgia.
The most attractive aspect of this building is its strong nostalgic atmosphere. From the dim lighting to the weathered decor on the walls, every detail is filled with a sense of history. Even if you don't shop, taking photos here is a great experience, especially for those who love retro styles or want to capture memories of old Taipei. This place is definitely an inspiring photo spot. And surprisingly, they even have an indoor badminton court on the fifth floor~ super cool.
If you're looking for a unique nostalgic space, why not visit here? You might also feel the flowing memories and warmth within this building.

New Taipei|Wugu Fitness and Disaster Prevention Park.
Found a perfect place for families! This time we visited Wugu Fitness and Disaster Prevention Park. The area here is huge with a variety of facilities, allowing kids to run and play freely. The highlight is the two 10-meter-high bamboo shoot-shaped playgrounds, where children can climb up and down and have a blast.
In addition to the big playgrounds, there are also facilities suitable for younger children, such as terrazzo slides, spinning equipment, and a large blackboard for drawing, allowing them to fully unleash their creativity! There's also a sandpit area with manual excavators, so kids can dig like little engineers and have a great time.
The park's design is also very thoughtful, with handwashing stations and foot-washing faucets, so kids can easily clean up after playing in the sand, giving parents peace of mind.
The best part is that there's a parking lot right next to the park with plenty of spaces, making it very convenient to visit. On the way home, the kids said, 'We want to come back next time!' It's clear that this experience was incredibly enjoyable for them. We'll definitely be back next time!
Dadaocheng Hidden Treasure Cultural Attractions Century-old Buildings and Staggered Stairs Are Beautiful
That day, I accidentally discovered this place full of historical charm while taking photos - the Taiwan New Culture Movement Memorial Hall. This building was originally the Taipei North Police Station, which was completed in 1933 during the Japanese colonial period. After restoration in 2018, it was transformed into a memorial hall, injecting more cultural and historical significance into the city.
When you walk into the museum, you will be attracted by the preserved classic staircases at first sight. It is so beautiful! The space on the first floor is even more impressive, with the fan-shaped detention room and the dungeon area completely preserved, making people feel the heaviness of history. The design of the water dungeon reflects the inhumanity of the time. Standing there, one feels both complicated and profound.
The memorial hall also has several themed exhibition areas, which, through rich displays of cultural relics, photos, etc., lead us to review the efforts and sacrifices made by our ancestors in the pursuit of freedom and democracy. Every corner conveys the voice of history and reminds us that freedom and democracy are hard-won.
The Taiwan New Culture Movement Memorial Hall is not only an excellent place to learn about the history of Taiwan's cultural movement, but also a place to feel the city's changes and the depth of history. Through the visit, you can more deeply appreciate the value of democracy and freedom. This place is definitely worth your time to visit and experience it with your heart!

Taipei Travel Taipei Hidden Historical Treasures
When you stroll through Xinyi District in Taipei City, it’s hard to imagine that somewhere in a corner of Section 5 of Civic Avenue lies a secret place full of historical stories—the National Railway Museum Preparatory Office. This employee bathhouse, built in 1935, was originally called the "Changing Room Bathhouse" and was a place where Taipei Machinery Factory employees could relax after work. The architectural design is simple and symmetrical, with a slightly cross-shaped plan. The biggest highlight is the reinforced concrete structure of the central bath and the natural lighting brought by the arched glass windows. It is beautiful~
There is currently a permanent exhibition - "The Age of Enlightenment - Employee Bathhouse Permanent Exhibition", which displays the history and architectural features of the Taipei Machinery Factory employee bathhouse. The exhibition is divided into three major areas: the west exhibition area, the central bathing area, and the east exhibition area. The original two circular hot pools and three rectangular cold pools in the bathhouse are retained, allowing visitors to experience how employees used the bathhouse at that time.
Although the entire exhibition room is not large, you can savor the modernization process of Taiwanese architecture, and you can also see the architectural style of the bathhouse during the same period. It is really a special experience to feel the evolution of the times from the details.

Taipei Store Exploration: Dadaocheng's Retro Secret Place Rediscover the Beauty of the 90s
#耳边风, which is close to Dadaocheng Wharf, is filled with a strong retro atmosphere. I really like it. The store cleverly combines Japanese, Taiwanese and European retro elements, and the little attic full of childlike fun makes people instantly return to their childhood, as if they have their own secret base again.
There were only me and my friend that day. We listened to the retro songs from the 90s and ordered a pudding and taro basque. We sang along with the song list and ate the basque that melted in our mouths and the dense taro paste. Life was so satisfying.
Just like that, we spent an extremely comfortable and pleasant morning in this small universe of Dadaocheng with songs and food~🤍🤍🤍

Taipei: Japanese-style studio cafe hidden in the alleys of Nangang
Taipei. Nangang|#玉虫画室
Located in the alleys of Nangang, Yumu Art Studio is a Japanese-style complex cafe that combines an art studio with a coffee space. As soon as you enter the store, the first thing that catches your eye is the corner with a round aquarium. Staring at the goldfish swimming leisurely is really soothing.
The overall space adopts an open design, with wooden decorations and a whole wall of books, creating a warm and artistic atmosphere. In a corner of the room, a special studio area is set up, where various art-related works are placed, making the space full of literary and artistic atmosphere.
For meals, this time we tried the #八丁杂增dandan面, which uses the fried minced pork with Hatcho miso. It has a rich aroma and is paired with chewy udon noodles. It has a rich flavor and excellent taste. But it’s a pity that the portion is a little small, and I feel like I’m not satisfied.
Another dish, #eelteasoakedrice, has crispy roasted rice balls topped with eel slices and drizzled with hot tea. The aroma of tea and the deliciousness of eel blend together, and the overall flavor is very Japanese and memorable.

This goose meat restaurant has a long line of customers and is so delicious that we want to tell everyone who is traveling to Taipei that they should definitely try it.
You can choose smoked or boiled in salt, but we went for smoked.
It was shockingly delicious.
The meat was juicy, moist and just too good... We also ordered goose oil rice and stir-fried sweet potato leaves.
If you drink alcohol, it's also great as a snack with Taiwanese beer.
Of course, I'll definitely come back 🥰

Taipei's Popular American Retro Industrial Style Fusion Korean Bistro
'PPM Cafe & Bar' is the second branch of the popular Zhongshan store 'DOUBLE SINGLE.' Located near CTS, PPM boasts an American industrial exterior while hiding Korean and Italian culinary influences. The indoor seating is limited, with a small open bar. Although the menu isn't extensive, each dish is a highlight, making it a place worth visiting.
The fried chicken is tender, juicy, and delightful! Instead of traditional pasta, the restaurant uses a noodle similar to knife-cut noodles for their pasta dishes. The "abt.coffee" coffee shop is located on the main road next to the Xingtian Temple. I was walking on Minquan East Road that day and was attracted by its pure white appearance. I was bored and thought I might as well go in and take a look. Because I was curious, there were many Japanese products on display. It happened that there were not many people that day, so I chatted with the boss for a while. It turned out that the boss studied in Japan and liked those collections very much, so he displayed and sold them by the way. It was also quite nice to chat.
I ordered #小山园抹茶拉铁 and #提拉火山. I like tiramisu. The presentation is very cute. Some coffee beans are put on the top. It is very fragrant when chewed together. It is quite good.

|Taipei. Taipei Main Station|
I have never been very fond of visiting curry shops outside. This time my friend asked me to try the famous "Suzaku". As soon as I ate it, I fell in love with it | more than I loved Tongan.
The store combines three stores, and the complex dining area also includes a bookstore and a beverage shop. There are not many curry options. This time I chose #compositebeefchicken. I liked it so much! The curry itself is pungent and citrusy with a bit of sourness. The beef is fried and has a caramel aroma but is soft and tender. It is delicious (the grilled chicken is also🙌🏼). Let me say it again ~ it is delicious! The #cilantro cream avocado curry that only appears on the evening menu. The fat of avocado and coriander cream makes the curry taste smoother. Although it doesn’t have the aroma of gravy, it is highly recommended to try the #snowflake caramel pudding with parmesan cheese and My friend liked the combination of salty and sweet pudding (I was okay with it) and the pudding was delicious on its own.
👉🏻 The most thoughtful thing is that you can refill both rice and sauce once!
All in all, it’s delicious ❤️

One downside is that while the view is great, the interior feels a bit cramped. However, it wasn't a major inconvenience during the stay.
Check-in can be done via a machine, with staff available to assist. No deposit is required, but a passport check is necessary. Note that smoking incurs a 5,000 TWD fine.
Breakfast is served on the 2nd floor, offering a variety of foods to enjoy.

It takes about 30 minutes by subway to Ximen Station and Taipei Main Station, the center of Taiwan.
The price is cheap, the facilities are clean, and the staff is friendly. I took an early morning flight and arrived at around 2:30 in the morning, but there was a staff member at the front desk, so I was able to check in right away.
It was a great place to see the city view with a Taiwanese feel, whether it was during the day or at night.
It is a hotel with good value for money and spacious, so I wanted to stay there again on my next trip to Taiwan.

Xiangshan Observatory is located in downtown Taiwan and is a mountain that you can easily climb in a round trip of 1 hour to the top.
It is a place that many locals and tourists visit, and it is beautiful during the day, but it is also a place with a night view.
There are many stairs and some steep parts, so I recommend visiting during the day rather than at night.
If you visit on a nice day, you can see the Taipei 101 Tower, a landmark of Taiwan, with a clear view.
There are several ways to get to the observatory, but I recommend starting from the entrance of Xiangshan to avoid getting lost in the mountains.

4 places to take photos of Taipei 101 🇹🇼
#tripแจกโรงแรมฟรี
4 Locations to Take Pictures of Taipei 101 🇹🇼
Of course, when you come to Taiwan, how can you miss taking pictures with Taipei 101?
The 4 locations we have listed are as follows:
1️⃣ Sisinan Village Museum, the first military village in Taiwan, which has now become a photo spot with Taipei 101. We recommend coming around 3-4 p.m. on a clear day, the light will be beautiful.
This spot is a grassy hill where you can sit and relax. It is also another photo spot that everyone who comes here must not miss.
📍Location https://goo.gl/maps/6iEYty7r3XiBdmMe8
🚆MRT Taipei 101 Station Exit 4
2️⃣ Tao Zhu Yin Yuan Building with Taipei 101 in the background
Actually, this building only has one side. If you want a picture that is parallel on both sides like this, you have to flip the picture in Photoshop again.
This point is on the side of the road. Most people like to take pictures at night after the Taipei 101 and Tao Zhu Yin Yuan buildings start to turn on their lights.
📍Coordinates https://goo.gl/maps/TdF2193uwHNfTMmn7
🚆MRT Taipei City Hall Station Exit 3
3️⃣ Another corner of Sisinan Village Museum, the first military village in Taiwan. This corner is in the old village area. It has an ancient feel in contrast to the background of the Taipei 101 building.
In this old village area, there are shops selling things and cafes selling various snacks.
📍Coordinates https://goo.gl/maps/6iEYty7r3XiBdmMe8
🚆MRT Taipei 101 Station Exit 4
4️⃣ The last point, this point is a small alley that has a slightly artistic feel. Taking pictures will make it look classic and give a different feeling. With the old buildings on both sides plus the Taipei 101 building standing out in front, this is another spot that we really like.
To get here, just pin it to Takemura Izakaya, which is the red lantern shop on the right in the picture.

📌‘Hungkan Dim Sum‘
⏰ Every day: 11:00~21:30
📍 Address: 108 Taipei City, Taiwan, Wanhua District, Section 1, Zhonghua Rd, 144號2F
Hongkan Dim Sum is a local dim sum restaurant located in Ximen Station. The interior is spacious and feels like a fancy Chinese restaurant, and the staff is friendly, which is nice.
There were many families who ate here, and if you visit during dinner time, there is a waiting line.
I ate a total of 4 kinds of dim sum and egg tarts, and I was full and it wasn't too expensive, so I ate without feeling burdened. 🩵
Taiwan Ximen Station Dim Sum Restaurant, I think it would be good for those who are looking for a Taiwanese dim sum restaurant. 🩵

My friends and I decided to walk until we find a place that we can eat and take rest we just seat in the grass while watching the beautiful scenery it’s a open field no resting place so you should bring umbrella specially on hot weather there is a little hiking spot also Better you go together with your friends it was a nice experience.
