An Incredible World Of Art for Less than $1!! Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Best Value In The City
Yes read it right, a fine art museum for less than $1! In a world where everything is getting more and more expensive by the day this is something that really surprised me, the price has stayed the same for years and the gallery is still as amazing as ever.
There are fixed galleries in the lower levels and rotating exhibits depending on the time of year. The galleries are well laid out and spacious with good WiFi; air conditioning and toilets.
It’s also very familiar friendly with lockers and luggage storage at the front, a separate children’s art area and outdoor exhibits for the kids to explore.
The building itself is also beautiful and very Bauhaus in style - the floor to ceiling windows around the sunken garden is a big hit for me.
It’s great for a rainy day and a fantastic budget option too!

Experience The Treasures Of the Forbidden City at The Hong Kong Palace Museum 🖼️ 🏰
The forbidden city is one of the most iconic landmarks in Beijing and in China as a whole, an area that helps to highlight the history of this nation and it’s incredible art and culture. It is notoriously hard to get into and China itself isn’t the easiest place to visit, so the Hong Kong Palace museum offers you the chance to experience highlights of the collection in Hong Kong. Opened to celebrate 25 years of the handover of Hong Kong in 2022 this museum is the centerpiece of the new Kowloon cultural district.
The building itself is incredibly well constructed and designed, you are able to enter easily and then follow a numbered gallery system to travel through the various exhibits. As you move up the building and move through the galleries you see some of the most beautiful and breathtaking pieces from the forbidden city collection.
There are exhibits about the buildings themselves, the furniture and art within along with objects and clothing from the time that help you get a sense of the world around the palace. There are very interesting exhibits on defence and warfare to help you understand the troubles of the time, the Armour and weapons being a personal highlight for me.
The building itself is also very impressive, the design is light and airy with lots of exposed views of the city around - there is a viewing platform on the outer areas of the mid floors and gives some of the best uninterpreted views across the harbour at the central districts.
Overall this is a fascinating glimpse into one of the most secretive locations in the world, I would highlight recommend it to anyone visiting Hong Kong. It takes a few hours so you can make a day by combining this with the M+ gallery next door.

M+ Kowloon, Hong Kong’s Latest Cultural Icon. Modern Art At its Best 🖼️
The M+ gallery in Kowloon is the centerpiece of the new cultural zone development that is nearning completion in Hong Kong, it will feature many galleries, museums and entertainment areas when completed. It's located beside Kowloon MTR & HSR station and is one of Hong Kong's biggest investments in recent years, aiming to diversift and strengthen the tourist economy.
The M+ is without a doubt one of the most impressive art instalations I have visitied and I was really stunned by the scale of the building, the design and aslo the exhibits within. The building is huge but has so much free space so you can cope with the crowds, the rooms are large with high ceilings and there are lots of communal areas to sit down and relax. The galleries fan off from a large central atrium and are all grouped by theme, there are also some stand alone limitied time exhibits that cost extra to view.
I got the general admission ticket and spend about 2 hours taking in the standard rooms, and it was totally worth it! A lot of the art can be interpreted at face value, for the more complex moden art pieces there are biliingual descriptions to help you.
Entry is around $120, you can buy online in advance or there are ticket machines and a reception as you enter.
The building itself is amazing and it has various hidden viewpoints and rest areas to help you take in the city around it.
I’d 100% recommend this to everyone!

Visited the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery a couple of weeks ago, and it was an enriching and remarkable experience. The museum is housed in a beautiful historic building right in the heart of the city, which adds to the charm of the visit.

The layout of the museum made it easy to navigate, and there was plenty of information provided for a deeper understanding of the exhibits.
Moreover, the staff were friendly and helpful, and
the museum café offered a good selection of snacks and drinks in a relaxing atmosphere. It’s also a big plus that admission is free, making it accessible to everyone.

Beijing’s Creative Playground
Once an abandoned factory complex, 798 Art Zone has transformed into Beijing’s most dynamic contemporary art hub. This sprawling industrial-chic district is a feast for the senses, where graffiti-covered brick walls, avant-garde sculptures, and cutting-edge galleries collide.
Must-see spots include:

The vibe is effortlessly cool—think artists cycling past Soviet-era machinery, and photo ops at every turn. Weekends buzz with pop-up markets and live performances, while weekdays offer a more laidback exploration.
Best for: Art lovers, Instagrammers, and anyone craving an offbeat Beijing experience.

An Artistic Escape to the Sabah Art Gallery, Discovering Sabah’s Visual Treasures!
#kotakinabalutrip#art
Visiting the Sabah Art Gallery was an remarkable experience that offered a deep dive into the rich cultural and artistic heritage of Sabah. The gallery, with its unique octagonal building and eco-friendly design, immediately sets the tone for a thoughtful and inspiring journey through Malaysian & regional art.
The gallery showcases a diverse collection of traditional and contemporary artworks, including paintings, sculptures, textiles, and handicrafts, all reflecting the unique identity of Sabah’s indigenous communities.
The exhibits were well-curated, with informative descriptions that provided insight into the history and significance of each piece. I particularly enjoyed the traditional motifs and the modern interpretations by local artists, which highlighted the fusion of old and new artistic expressions.
However, I felt that the gallery could benefit from more interactive or multimedia displays to engage younger visitors. Additionally, a small café or souvenir shop would be a great addition for tourists looking to take a piece of Sabah’s art culture home.
Whether you’re an art enthusiast or just looking for a peaceful cultural stop, the Sabah Art Gallery is well worth a visit. It’s a hidden gem that gives you a deeper appreciation for the creative talent and cultural identity of the region.

Beste pieces of modern art in Verona in a hidden building in the center!
#aprilblooms
The Modern Art #gallery of Verona has some new pieces of #art on display to see from the beginning of spring!
The exhibitions cover a period that goes from the mid-19th to the mid-20th century, but also some more older pieces, with works by the great artists of the Italian avant-garde and thematic areas linked to the city of Verona.
My favorite was the gigantic wall painting in a chapelle like room! There are also a lot of statues that look really life-like.
To the exhibition, you can get there taking the iconic flight of stars, which is a popular photo spot.
At the end of the exhibition, you can also find staris that go directly down to the gift shop, where you can also buy ticket for the bell tower that is in the same building as the museum. The view from the tower must really be picturesque!
Historic castle in the heart of Verona with a medieval walking bridge
#aprilblooms
The Castelvecchio complex in Verona is a striking example of #medieval architecture, characterized by its robust red brick construction and imposing presence. The fortress itself features sturdy walls and multiple towers. Inside it you can find a museum of medieval #art. A now-dry ditch once surrounded the structure, highlighting its strategic design.✨
Connecting to the castle is the Scaliger #bridge, a marvel of 14th-century engineering. Built primarily of red Veronese brick with lower sections of white marble, the bridge showcases elegant, sloping arches, the largest of which was a record-breaking span at the time of its construction. It stretces over the Adige River, where you can see the first groups of boats floating under the bridge at this time of the year. ✨
🌈Art Adventures🌈
We went to the Artvo in Melbourne before, now it was time to go to the one of the Gold Coast!🏖️
We had some time before our flight back home, so we went to Robina Town Centre where the Artvo is. It's just as fun as the one in Melbourne and we had an awesome time! The staff, Keifer and Liana were absolutely lovely and super helpful. They were kind enough to take photos of us in the areas we wanted🔮
Art is amazing and fun to look at especially when you get to be a part of it! All three of us highly recommend Artvo Gold Coast as well as Melbourne, especially if you're looking to go somewhere with a group of friends. But if you go by yourself, not to worry because the lovely staff will take photos of you!🖼️

798 in Spring: Where Industrial Bones Bloom with Artistic Soul
#discoverchina #Beijing #art #citydaytours
There's a particular magic that happens each spring when Beijing's iconic 798 Art District shakes off its winter coat. The rusted steel skeletons of old East German factories—once producing electronics for Mao's China—become living canvases for nature and artists alike. Wisteria vines erupt in purple waterfalls down brutalist walls, their perfume mingling with the sharp tang of welding from nearby sculpture studios.
Spring Highlights:
- Concrete Garden Party:Courtyards that felt stark in winter transform into lush installations, with young creators painting en plein air beneath flowering crabapples
- Golden Hour Magic: 4:30-6:00pm when setting sun turns the district's signature smokestacks into glowing brushstrokes against cobalt skies
This is when 798 truly lives up to its reputation as China's most dynamic creative ecosystem—where every sprouting weed cracks the pavement with artistic possibility, and the air thrums with the energy of a thousand new ideas taking root.

Into the Unicorn!!
#AprilBlooms
🦄🦄🦄
Over the weekend, I didn’t go far—just needed a gentle escape from the noise of everyday life. I decided to visit a small local art exhibition nearby, never expecting to stumble upon something that would truly transport me beyond reality.
As I wandered through works from various artists, one painting made me stop in my tracks. It depicted a unicorn entering through a window where a young woman lay in a dreamy, mid-day slumber. There was something magical about it—the soft rainbow hues, the fantasy theme—it almost felt alive. I was instantly captivated.
I’m not sure if it was the palette the artist used, or the quiet power within the scene, but it felt as if my heart was pulled right into that world.
A world of unicorns…
Where time stands still, there are no deadlines, no rush—only gentle breezes and the faint scent of wildflowers floating through the air.
I stayed there for a while, soaking it in, and realized:
Sometimes, “viewing art” isn’t about what we see with our eyes—but what we feel with our hearts. It can lead us away from chaos and quietly return us to the dreamscapes we once believed in as children… just waiting to be remembered.
In summary:
There were no loud noises, no flashing lights, and yet this weekend was full of feeling.
All it took was one painting to take me somewhere my heart had been longing to go.
