#summervacay The W Bangkok holds a special place in many hearts, often being fully booked during holidays. Its popularity stems largely from its proximity to the beloved Silom area and its consistently excellent service. I last stayed around this time last year when the lounge was under renovation, and the prices were a bit lower. This recent stay, however, revealed significant changes, especially the addition of more of my favorite color: purple! This alone gives me another reason to choose the W. Why the Purple Touch? I think the hotel was quite clever with its purple makeover. They clearly understand their target audience and know exactly what colors appeal to them most. And for me, purple is also the signature color of my favorite idol, Miriam Yeung (杨千嬅), making it even harder not to love! Beyond the Aesthetics: What I Love Location: As mentioned, it's super convenient. Bangkok traffic can be a nightmare, so being able to walk to the Silom area for fun is a huge plus. Service: I generally find W Hotels to have great service, and this particular W is one of the better ones I've experienced. During my stay, the front desk initially gave me the wrong room card number, so I had to go back down twice. Once the mistake was confirmed, the front desk attendant was incredibly apologetic, which I appreciated. Bonus Vouchers: They even provided drink vouchers, which could be redeemed at the lounge on the first floor or by the pool on the sixth floor. The hotel boasts comprehensive facilities, and every single staff member was incredibly warm and friendly. Convenient Transportation ✈️🚇 Getting around from here is a breeze! There's a shuttle bus service from Hamamatsucho subway station directly to the hotel, which is incredibly convenient, especially if you have luggage. Even better, there's a direct airport limousine bus to Narita Airport right from the hotel, making departures incredibly smooth for travelers with bags. (I've included the shuttle and airport bus timetables, along with airport bus prices, in the original notes.) Room Views & Quiet Surroundings 🌉🚶♀️ My room offered a lovely view of the Rainbow Bridge, which was a beautiful sight. One of the minimalist accommodations that you should visit in Phuket Finally, I have come to stay at another favorite resort. This is COMO Point Yamu Phuket, located on Cape Yamu, with a view of Phang Nga Bay. Luxury resorts and minimalists will definitely love it because every corner of this place has beautiful photo spots. The design here is inspired by the blue sea, contrasting with the simplicity of white, and incorporating Thai elements in various spots, such as the orange color that comes from the robes of Buddhist monks and furniture that reflects local fisheries. If you look closely at each spot, you will know that they really put in every detail. When thinking of COMO Point Yamu, the highlight is the blue central pool that contrasts with the sea and has beautiful Day Beds lined up. There are also other complete facilities such as a full-service spa, fitness center, yoga room, 2 restaurants and 1 bar called Aqua Bar, which serves mocktails, cocktails and various fruit juices, some of which are only available here. La Sirena, an all-day dining restaurant, I had breakfast here and there was a wide variety to choose from. Those who wake up early will definitely love it. There is a buffet line for you to choose from, bakery, salad bar, drinks and healthy food, whole coconut water, and hot and cold drinks. The main course menu is served as ala carte, freshly made, each dish is very delicious. For dinner, I ate at Nahmyaa restaurant, which is located next to the breakfast room. I like this restaurant the most because it serves local southern food. The taste of Thai people is very delicious. In the evening, you can see the sunset. My room is a One-Bedroom Pool Villa, a very large villa with an area of 170 square meters. If you like privacy, I would recommend staying in this room. It is divided into 1 living room, 1 mini bar that is like a small kitchen, 1 bedroom, 2 bathrooms, and a balcony area with a private infinity pool that you can actually swim in. There is also a daybed for you to lie down and relax with an outdoor dining table. The room I stayed in faces the sunset, with a wide view of the sea but not too high. #summervacay Continuing my Vietnam journey, I want to share my experience at another incredible hotel, widely regarded as Southeast Asia's most beautiful Aman property: Amanoi. After two nights at Zannier, we headed to Amanoi. Both hotels aren't strictly within Quy Nhon or Nha Trang but are nestled in the mountains close to these cities. Amanoi, in particular, is located within a national park. Before arriving, you need to communicate your arrival time and license plate number with the hotel, as non-guests aren't permitted into the resort grounds. This strict policy certainly enhances the sense of privacy for guests, which is a big plus! The Amanoi property is vast, so getting around requires calling for a buggy, which the staff promptly provides. I'd describe Amanoi as a standard of excellence in luxury hotels, both in its elegant design and impeccable service. While it might lack some of the unique character or "soul" that Zannier offered, it makes up for it with its consistent high standards. Our room faced the beautiful pavilion shown in Photo 6, which is part of the SPA area. We started our mornings there with a yoga class, and I later indulged in a facial treatment, which was perfectly fine and followed a standard Western procedure. One of the most memorable highlights was a private hiking excursion we arranged with the hotel. A dedicated guide led us on an hour-long trek, providing a wonderful opportunity to explore the surrounding nature. #singaporehotel 📍 Location, Location, Location! Andaz is right in the heart of Bugis, which means you are spoiled for choice when it comes to food downstairs! After days of exploring, my absolute favorites were "Hensley BBQ" (很乐山) for amazing skewers and 'Qiaojiao Beef Noodles', and "A Family" (一家人) for durian desserts that are simply out of this world! 🤤 Plus, Atlas Bar, that super famous spot (Jay Chou even visited!), is right downstairs. This is a huge win for someone like me who loves a good drink but hates queuing! 🍸 You're also just a 10-minute walk to Haji Lane and the Sultan Mosque, and about 15 minutes to Marina Bay Sands and Merlion Park. Seriously, getting to all the major sights is a breeze! 🚶♀️💨 ✨ Style & Vibe: I've seen Andaz hotels in China with a very refined "Nanyang" (Southeast Asian) style, but here in actual Southeast Asia, the vibe is a bit different – less "refined wealthy lady," more raw and authentic. It features large expanses of natural wood with touches of modern metal, all subtly dotted with greenery. I got a city-view corner room (check out P12!) with floor-to-ceiling windows looking right onto the colorful streets of Kampong Glam. If you snag a bay-view room, you'll get direct views of the Singapore Flyer and Marina Bay Sands! 🎡 🍳 Breakfast: I only managed to wake up before 10:30 AM for breakfast once during my stay (oops! 😅), but I genuinely loved their spread! Especially the fruits – they had papaya and mangosteen! You could honestly just fill up on fruit alone, which is amazing for a Southeast Asian hotel breakfast. Definitely try their Laksa too; it's perfectly balanced and not too heavy! 🍜 🏊♀️ The Pool (My Favorite Part!): This might just be my favorite part of the entire hotel! The infinity pool offers incredible views of the Singapore Flyer. In the afternoons, you'll see quite a few Westerners just chilling by the side, reading and sunbathing for hours. I genuinely thought it was some high-end private residence until someone told me it was actually a hotel! And let me tell you, the beauty isn't just on the outside. The interior design is equally exquisite. It truly offers an unparalleled experience! ✨ First off, the service is absolutely impeccable. Every time you get a taxi, there's a doorman to open and close the door for you and handle your bags. 💼 When you check in, they give you a fantastic rundown of things to do, eat, and drink in Ho Chi Minh City. I even asked about places to buy clothes in Vietnam, and they meticulously took note, looked it up, and sent someone to deliver the information right to my room! How thoughtful is that?! 🤯 Even the elevators have dedicated attendants monitoring them – every time we wanted to go back to our room, the elevator was already open and waiting for us on the first floor! 🥳 The hotel's public areas are simply stunning! So beautiful, I swear I wanted to take 100 photos! 📸 They even have live piano and violin performances in the afternoons and evenings. 🎶 I particularly adored the hotel's flowers; the peonies were just exquisite! 🌸 Oh, and the pool is heated! Even after all these years, it still has that same special feeling and stunning scenery. 😍 We stayed here for our entire four-day, three-night trip to Chiang Mai, and honestly, the service was fantastic! The location is also incredibly convenient; getting anywhere was a breeze. 🛵 We splurged on one of their River View Suites this time – there are only three of them in the whole hotel! However, I actually don't recommend booking it during the rainy season. 🌧️ The rainwater washes mud from the mountains into the river, making the whole thing look a bit murky and yellow.
