Marugame Castle is located just under a 15-minute walk from Marugame Station. It can be seen from the station, but if you go closer you will see a row of very large stone walls.
The castle tower is the smallest of all existing castles, but the view from the tower overlooks a very large area, and you can even see the Great Seto Bridge.
It's not a national treasure, but I thought it was a very wonderful castle.
The castle with the smallest castle tower and the tallest stone walls in Japan!
Marugame Castle, located in Marugame City, Kagawa Prefecture, is the castle with the smallest castle tower in Japan.
Because many beautiful stone walls remain, it is also known as the "Stone Castle" and "Famous Stone Wall Castle," and is famous for having the tallest stone wall in Japan!
The castle tower enshrined in the stone wall was built over 400 years ago and is one of the "12 wooden castle towers" that still exist in Japan.
The castle tower is small, so it looks very far away when viewed from afar!
