Grand Hotel, Sri Lanka: Afternoon Tea Time The weather was cold when we arrived at the Grand Hotel in Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka, but it made the afternoon tea experience even more memorable. The hotel staff was very warm-hearted. The staff was very considerate and provided a heater for my father to use, and always cared whether our family felt cold. Such attentive service makes people feel at home even in a foreign country. ☕ Enjoy classic English afternoon tea, paired with local specialty teas and aromatic coffee, as well as a variety of desserts and sandwiches. Every bite is full of happiness. The colonial-style decoration and quiet atmosphere inside the hotel added a lot of style to this afternoon trip. Every detail in the hotel is full of stories, from the gorgeous chandeliers to the colonial-style arched corridors, each one is worth savoring. The Grand Hotel Nuwara Eliya is one of the historic hotels in Sri Lanka established in 1891. Its predecessor was originally a holiday home built in 1828 by Sir Edward Barn, the fifth governor of Ceylon. The hotel was since visited by many notable people including Queen Elizabeth. There are 10 restaurants in the Grand Hotel. We had a lovely afternoon tea at the Grand Tea Lounge facing the beautiful patio in front of the hotel. The tea lounge serves the best Ceylon teas, together with a delightful array of cakes, scones and savories. Diners can order high tea sets and also ala carte western cuisines. The prices of the high tea sets are a bit steep (minimum 5000 Lkr for a set) but it's definitely worthwhile paying for the ambience and the quality of food. 🏨Grand Hyatt Seoul (Premier King Bed, Han River View) 🕔Check-in: PM3:00 🕚Check-out: AM 11:00 - I loved the feeling of the gallery cafe and lobby that I saw as soon as I entered! It felt calm, classic, and old-fashioned rather than casual. - Parking is 25,000 won for valet and 10,000 won for parking! I used valet service because I had a partner card, but I recommend checking your card before going. - The room has two views: Namsan and Hangang. The Hangang view is completely different from what I saw at Conrad. And the pool seen through the window is prettier when viewed together with the Hangang view. It feels refreshing~~🏝🏝 The room is not that big, but the table is huge~ It feels like the biggest among the hotels I've been to..?🤔🤔 And there's a long sofa next to the TV, so it's comfortable to eat! (It's a secret that you have to twist your body to watch TV..🤫) - I think the soundproofing is not as good as I thought, so I had to be careful. People who are sensitive to noise from the next room or the hallway might find it annoying.🥲 - I received a shower booth in the bathroom, but please note that the rooms with bathtubs are not yet remodeled! - Amenities are provided in disposable containers by Balmain! The scent is luxurious and neutral, so I want to buy the actual product and try it, but I don't think it's sold in Korea (I can't find it, so if you know where to buy it, please let me know..😜) - Wine glasses (5,000 won) and edible ice (5,000 won) are provided for a fee, which was really disappointing. Of course, there is an ice machine on each floor! - Gyeongridan-gil, close to Namsan, so it was great for a walk. I visited in the spring, and the cherry blossoms and magnolias were in full bloom, so it felt like I came to the hotel to see the flowers🌸 I was looking forward to how beautiful it would be in the fall with the fall foliage. it was a clear windy day and i decided to hike the jiantan trail and watch the planes take off and land at songshan airport. to save on energy, i took the grand hotel bus from yuanshan station, then started the hike from the hotel. the trail starts behind the hotel with clear marked paths. it was an easy climb as the trail is well maintained and there are rest stops along the way. signs are also available to guide people. the plane viewing deck is very clean and good place to be. very relaxing and i highly recommend it. the view is spectacular. if you do not feel like climbing the trail, a similar view can be seen outside the grand hotel. similar views are by the family mart exit of the hotel. #grandhotel #urbanhike #songshanairport #taipei101 #yuanshan #jiantan #taipei

I flew here to stay at the historical grand hotel for my best friends wedding. It did not disappoint. We got an amazing balcony that overlooks the city. This wedding venue is so gorgeous and the staff were so friendly and helpful.There are shuttles and easy transport to get to night markets or other attractions. The wedding of course was amazing. We also got a tour of the east tunnel which is not always open to the public, the tour guides are volunteers but they are so professional and knowledgeable. highly recommend you check out a tour of the tunnels and learn about the history of this hotel. #grandhotel #台湾 #圓山大飯店 #weddingvenue #historic #freehotelstay
