As an animal-lover, I had been waiting in anticipation for Bird Paradise to open. I visited it during its soft opening and it definitely exceeded my expectations! A place that families can consider for this June holidays! 🦅 what's new? The birds (and other animals) are housed together in 9 aviaries, which were perfectly designed to resemble the birds' area of origin - Asia, Africa, Australia and more! 🚶🏻‍♀️ You'll walk seamlessly through the aviaries through the walkways, spotting birds and interacting with the environment around you! Most importantly, you get an up-close view of the birds, just remember not to touch them or use flash photography. 🥵 Worried about the heat? Cool off between zones in the smartly placed air-conditioned rooms (or head to the 🐧 penguin cove!) 🍽️ There are also tons of eateries - many at the entrance, like A&W, Starbucks and Birds of Paradise (Mandai Wildlife West) and a handful at the central plaza. Don't worry about going hungry! 🦚Activities! There are currently two bird shows at the Sky Amphitheatre - Predators on Wings & Wings of the World. The total area of the park is 6.9 hectares. It has large dome-shaped cages surrounded by stunning landscape just like the one you saw in Jurassic Park/World movie. Our family visited Jurong Bird Park a few times in the past. We seized the last opportunity to visit JBP again before it relocates to Mandai after 3rd January 2023. Don't be intimidated by its seemingly "ulu" (remote) location. There is free shuttle bus to and fro JBP and Jurong East MRT at intervals of 10 min starting 9 am daily. Pick up at Jurong East Private Bus Pick-Up Point via Jurong East MRT Exit B. Do not miss the High Flyers Show at 11 am and 3 pm, and King of the Skies at 10 am and 4 pm! You can also get up close to some of the birds at African Treetop (entrance at Treetop Cafe). What a feast to the senses it was, as we strolled by the walk in aviary , enjoying the view of the beautiful birds against the gorgeous scenic nature backdrop at its best. The bird show with special skills brought out the child in me as we cheered for the rainbow colored macaws ! The park was opened in 1991 by Queen Tunku Bainun of Malaysia. It covers an area of more than 8 hectares and has several thousand individuals and more than 200 species of birds. A detailed study of the zoological garden will require at least 3 hours. The territory of the Bird Park is divided into 4 zones, each of which is home to certain types of birds. Throughout the territory there are direction signs and feeders. Next to each enclosure there is a sign with the name of the inhabitant, an indication of his halo of habitat, habits and lifestyle. On the territory of Bird Park there are many benches where you can relax and watch birds. The entire park is maintained in perfect cleanliness and order. It is very green here: many trees and shrubs. Bird Park regularly hosts various events such as bird feeding and bird shows. The performances include simple tricks with talking parrots. An amphitheater was built specifically for the show in the park. The performance with parrots is in English. The one of the largest free-flight walk-in aviary in the world. If you traveling to Malaysia you should visit this place. So many birds I’ve never seen before. Ticket was RM 59.69 and it worth it. There is parking lots, a restaurant, and a souvenir shop on site. It's very interesting to watch the parrot show. they are so smart and beautiful.
