Reading in Color: A Quiet Escape at BookXcess Lalaport
#springitinerary #kuala_lumpur #bukit_bintang #books
Tucked within the pulse of Kuala Lumpur’s lalaport, BookXcess isn’t just a bookstore—it’s a living canvas where books breathe and spaces speak.
Step inside and the world softens. Towering shelves stretch skyward, curving around hidden corners and quiet reading nooks. But it’s the yellow zone that stole my attention—warm, whimsical, and utterly inviting. A staircase winds toward a lofted space above, where a piano waits quietly beneath amber light. Here, time seems to slow.
There’s something cinematic about the tiered reading platforms, like scenes waiting to be lived: a reader curled with a novel, soft music echoing faintly, and yellow walls wrapping the moment like a memory. The design feels intentional—creative, layered, yet unforced.
Whether you’re hunting for an affordable classic, a design book, or simply a moment of quiet in the city, BookXcess Lalaport delivers a reading experience that feels immersive and emotional. It’s not just about buying a book—it’s about stepping into a story before the first page even begins.
Enjoy Spectacular Kuala Lumpur Views at Furama Bukit Bintang Hotel
A 4Star hotel located in Bukit Bintang was built in 2011. It is located on Jalan Changkat Thambi Dollah, behind Berjaya Time Square and across from it is Bukit Bintang City Centre which houses the Lalaport shopping mall. Through the Trip.com I booked an executive room (Executive Room) priced at RM195.94 and this price is without breakfast.
This hotel uses an online check-in process where visitors need to fill in their personal details and after that the hotel will send a barcode. This barcode will be used at the kiosk provided during the check-in process. I arrived at the hotel at about 1.15 pm and went straight to the kiosk located in the hotel lobby. This hotel provides 2 kiosks and the registration process is quite easy and fast. In addition to the kiosk and counter, there is a cafe in the hotel lobby as well as a Starbucks coffee machine.
Upon receiving the access card, I went straight to my room which is located on the 13th floor.
What caught my attention in the closet was an analog weight scale (as far as I remember this is the only hotel that does not provide a digital scale).
The hotel's swimming pool is located on the 3rd floor and it is in the open area. The swimming pool is directly facing Lalaport and also Berjaya Time Square. This swimming pool operates from 7 am to 8 pm. In addition to the swimming pool, on the same floor there is also a gymnasium which operates from 6 am to 10 pm.
In the room, this hotel provides free toileteries, free wifi. The hotel's TV broadcast is not in HD and there are not many broadcasts. For the check-out process, visitors only need to place the access card in the box provided in the hotel lobby.

Neighbour Privilege
#newyearnewtrip
Nothing like having the opportunity and privilege of being able to travel to KL multiple times a year. I was able to visit Pasar Seni and splurge for the beautiful arts and crafts, merch & handmade gifts! I was also able to go to Little India and buy authentic sweets and desserts at Karaikudi Chettinadu Restaurant 😍! Going to Genting is definitely a must have! With two separate theme parks (indoor & outdoor), it's worth ALL your money to go!!
