Went for a London trip in October and really enjoyed every bit of it. Here are some of my tips: - Visit the tower bridge/tower of London/Westminster abbey and surrounding landmarks at night for a very nice view and photos of the landmarks. - Changing of the guard at Buckingham palace: ensure to go there early at around 10am to get a good spot. It gets really crowded and the police will block the roads - Visit the Natural gallery is a must if you’re an art lover! I loved this museum a lot, there were works from Van Gogh, Claude Monet and many other artists that inspired them, along with several other European artists that I also grew to love as I went around the exhibition. Really good variety of art shown and very clean environment. One of the best art museums visited. You don’t have to book a slot and can walk in. - Catch a musical! It’s a must, I recommend Les Miserables (classic), Book of Mormon (funny) or phantom of the opera (classic too). Heard Six is good too. - Blank Street coffee is really good. Especially their white chocolate matcha - Visit markets is a must! As the summer sun gives way to autumnal mists and wintery frosts, the capital's trees turn red, gold and orange, making for gorgeous seasonal walks and excellent photo opportunities.🍁 St James Park is one of the best spots to get a dose of autumn beauty. It's right in front of Buckingham palace behind the Victoria Memorial, its hard to miss. The park has a long stretch leading to the Palace where parades, marches, processions and many other ceremonies take place. It's a beautiful park with a lake, large bushy trees, friendly ducks (unless they come and peck your toe) and a cafe serving some fine coffee, cream tea and cakes. 🚉St James Park is right in central London and its so easy to reach here from anywhere. The nearest tube stations are St James, Green Park, Bond Street. As part of an extremely fulfilling London day trip on Good Friday (18 Apr 2025), one of the places I visited was Sambourne House, the former family home of the cartoonist Linley Sambourne. Whole place felt very lived in but considerably more cluttered and lacking in focus compared to Leighton House, its sister museum. Overall it really provides a glimpse into Victorian family life as well as the personality and occupation of its original owner and is really well preserved.
