Went to Halong Bay just before Covid, and it still feels like a dream 🌤️. We took the Silversea Cruise, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. We chose the one-night stay on the cruise, which was just perfect — enough time to enjoy the view right from our room in the morning 🌄, and not feel too rushed. Waking up surrounded by the calm emerald waters, limestone cliffs, and those classic Halong Bay cruise silhouettes in the distance — the view was everything 😍. It’s the kind of scene you want to pause and soak in slowly, with a cup of coffee in hand ☕ and zero rush. The cruise included some fun activities too! We had a Vietnamese cooking class where we learned how to roll fresh spring rolls 🥢, which was a fun and tasty hands-on experience. Just returned from a short but sweet one-night stay at Radisson Golf & Convention Center Batam. The hotel is located about a 15-minute drive from the Batam Centre ferry terminal, making it relatively convenient, especially if you’re not heading into the main shopping areas. First impressions were great — the hotel exterior was clean and well-maintained, and the lobby had a modern design with plenty of comfortable seating. We arrived a little after 1pm, but were told the room wouldn’t be ready until the official check-in time at 3pm. Not a big issue for us since we took the chance to grab lunch at the hotel’s coffee house and explore the surroundings. One of the highlights was definitely the swimming pool overlooking the golf course — the view was tranquil and really helped set the tone for a relaxing stay. There’s also an indoor pool on the fifth floor, which was a nice surprise. We also popped by the gym and were pleasantly surprised by how well-equipped it was for a hotel facility. Our room was clean and tidy, though it faced the car park instead of the golf course, which was a little bit of a letdown given how scenic the rest of the property is. Another minor downside was the absence of a bathtub, but for the price we paid, we couldn’t really complain. What really stood out to us was the peaceful and calming atmosphere throughout the property — from the koi ponds to the quiet corridors, it felt like a proper retreat away from the buzz of the city. All in all, it was an enjoyable and value-for-money stay. Not exaggerating — this trip felt like a dream. I just came back from a short cruise out of Singapore, and for under S$4000 (for two people!), I got full-on luxury, 24/7 ocean views, live shows, endless food… and way more than I expected. If you’ve been thinking about doing a cruise but weren’t sure it’s worth it — let me take you on board: My Cruise: 5D4N from Singapore We boarded from Marina Bay Cruise Centre and stayed in a balcony room (worth it for the view!). The whole ship felt like a floating resort — over 15 decks, pools, dining rooms, and entertainment spaces everywhere. What I did for FREE onboard： ✔️ Tried the FlowRider surf machine multiple times (it’s addictive) ✔️ Joined a music trivia night and somehow won a prize ✔️ Watched a Broadway-style show that had me tearing up ✔️ Had breakfast on the balcony, lunch by the pool, and midnight pizza in bed ✔️ Caught the sunset from the top deck every evening ✔️ Rode a bumper car… at sea?!?! What surprised me most? The service. Crew were super friendly, especially with families and older guests. They even have child drop-off services and wheelchair rentals onboard. Food? Say no more. There were 9 included restaurants (buffets, cafés, hotpot, Asian food, Western food…), plus tons of paid options. You’ll never go hungry. Also — room service was a lifesaver when we were too lazy to leave bed. My route: Singapore → Phuket → Penang → Singapore 3 nights, 3 destinations, 0 stress. No flights, no hotel switching. Just cruise, wake up, and explore. Can’t believe this hotel is so pretty yet so affordable! I had the best 3d2n stay here 🥹💌 The room actually starts from $50+/night for the cheapest room so it is super affordable! The room I stayed in was more expensive as it is a suite which is about $100/night and it is called the Tow Kay Suite! 
My room (1st pic) features a really vintage interior which I love and the lights are warm. The bed is really comfy and has a nice view of the city! There is also a living area with a sofa, table & tv! The toilet also has a rain shower! It is really spacious 😍 
The hotel has so many photo spots everywhere and it also has a rooftop which overlooks the KL’s skyline! It has a vintage interior which is the unique point of the hotel~ For the location, it is located at Chow Kit which is about 3km away from the city centre which I feel it’s okay! 
They also have a kitchen & bar where the food is so amazing!! Their rendang is so 💞💯 Their breakfast options are good too! I enjoyed the Nasi lemak a lot and it comes with a tea + fruit juice.

I love pastel colours and pop art so I was so excited to visit Zippy Day Club which is at Phuket 🇹🇭🫶🏻 
It is located opposite Karon Beach! I reached there around 4+pm and it wasn’t very crowded at all (which I love) because I get to take many nice photos without people photobombing me 🤭🤣 I stayed till 7+ pm to catch the sunset too 🫶🏻 
The aesthetics, the food & the staff is 💯 There is also pool party that happens every weekend with international DJs (5pm onwards) 🪩 They have many cute floats too which you can use!!! Their toilet has aircon btw and it’s so aesthetic as well (so clean too!!)

If you are going Bangkok soon, you MUST definitely visit After the Rain Coffee & Gallery! You should heard of Bubble in the forest, and if you are going there you should make a visit to after the rain too as it’s quite near! So don’t waste the travelling time and visit 2 cafes 🤩 
I actually rented a driver for a day to bring us from our hotel -> Bubble in the forest -> After the rain -> Union Mall -> Jeh O -> Jodd Fairs -> hotel as it’s more convenient since the cafes are a bit far out and we scared we can’t get a grab back. 
Food: The food was not bad! 🤭 We ordered Peach Soda, Pink Lemonade, Mango Sticky Rice & Pork Neck butterfly pea rice to share since we already ate at BITF 🫶🏻 
There were 2 main big boats for you to take pictures and you get to row the boat around that area or you can also row the smaller boat to go one big round around the place🤣 it was quite tiring to already row the boat to take the picture area but the photos were so worth it! There was also a swing! Really love this place omg, you should definitely visit especially if you are also visiting BITF already!

Never forget to include their buffet breakfast in to your package because it’s too worth the price. Many varieties of food were served. You can enjoy a decent looking pool. Their sauna was on maintenance (when I visited them - you can check if it’s ready). I loved their sculptures collections they have around the hotel ( included two of them in the pics for reference). The trip has going through some up and down mountain road. So be sure you are not easy to get carsick. Once reached, you have to park your car outside and walked 1km in the forest in order to see the waterfall. Backpack and kampung adidas are suggested. Get your hand free cause you might need to cross some creeks (some wooden bridge were broken)

Looking for good durian during the durian seasons, head to the Durianman SS2 located at Lot 7690, Jalan SS2/24 at petaling jaya where they provide fresh durian to customers and they even have a big area for you to dine. This means, you just have to walk up and pick your very own durian, or you can ask the staff to pick and cut open for you and after you can eat it fresh right at the place itself. Thinking of a short weekend Getaway trip to KL. Let me teach you how to, 1. Leave SINGAPORE on a 7pm/8pm coach which most likely will reach KL about 1am/2am. 2. Make sure your hotels are booked near the location of your bus drop off point in KL. I recommend Berjaya Time Square dropp off. 3. We stayed at JW Marriot since everything is walking distance from the hotel, and this includes also the bus drop off point. So that you won't need to take a taxi or get haggled by these drivers. 4. We had good seafood which includes a whole steam fish, fried mantis prawns, clams, vegetables and their very popular crab curry with Mantou at Restaurant New Kai Eng Seafood, Jalan Kenanga, 50, Jalan Merlimau, Pudu, and all these only cost less than $85Sgd! 5. For breakfast on Sunday we had a local dimsum popular among the locals only at Restoran Tuck Cheong located at 29, jalan kancil pudu. It is a corner shop with a few tables, you will be able to find it by looking at several locals gathering outside the shops. 6. Well, if you ask what the budget was, for a evening departure on Friday with a hotel booking of a one bed room apartment at Oasia Suites Kuala Lumpur and a Sunday return trio only cost us for 2 pax of less than $250.
