Geneva | Home to the United Nations European Headquarters---Palais des Nations
Geneva is renowned not only as a major Swiss city but also as the European headquarters of the United Nations. The headquarters is housed in a white stone building resembling a palace, known as the "Palais des Nations," situated in Ariana Park by Lake Geneva.
Constructed in the 20th century, the Palais des Nations features classic European palace architecture. Until 1946, it served as the main headquarters of the League of Nations. Outside the palace, there are several notable art installations, such as the giant wooden chair with a missing leg, the sea of national flags, and the armillary sphere.
However, as it is a working office of the United Nations, access is restricted without a pass. Only certain areas are open for guided tours by reservation, such as the Consultation Hall adorned with stunning murals or the conference hall, which is even larger than the Paris Opera House. Those interested can book a tour to explore the mysterious world of the United Nations in just an hour.
Geneva | The 140-Meter Skyward Water Jet---Jet d'Eau at Lake Geneva
The Jet d'Eau at Lake Geneva is a massive artificial fountain located on the shores of Lake Geneva. Using high-pressure pumps to draw water from the lake, it shoots water up to a height of approximately 140 meters, making it visible from many parts of Geneva.
Below the fountain lies a pathway, where the lake water sometimes falls directly onto it depending on the wind direction, creating a downpour-like effect. This makes it one of Geneva's most popular tourist attractions.
On either end of the fountain's pathway are two facilities: the Lighthouse of the Eaux-Vives, which extends into the lake, and the Jet d’eau Baths near the shore, an open-air seawater pool that is perfect for family fun.
Geneva | The Swiss version of Gaudí's architecture - Les Schtroumpfs
#AprilGoodDestinations2025
Are there any strange Gaudí buildings in Switzerland? !
There is a special community in Geneva called "Les Schtroumpfs, the residence of the Smurfs". The structure of the house is in a wavy modern style, and there are large areas of collage of color blocks. The color matching is very bold and bright, subverting the impression of traditional residential apartments, and it reminds people of the weird and interesting "Hundertwasser Apartment" in Vienna.
Les Schtroumpfs is very close to the central station, only a 15-minute walk away, and can be considered a stopover attraction.

Geneva | Affordable business hotel with convenient transportation---Ibis Geneva Central Station Hotel
#AprilGoodDestinations2025
If you want convenience and affordability when staying in Geneva, a good choice would be the hotel near the central station - Hôtel ibis Genève Centre Gare.
For just over NT$4,000, you can stay in an ibis standard double room, which is considered affordable considering the high prices in Switzerland. Although the space of 15 square meters is a bit small and there are no other entertainment facilities, it is within walking distance of the central station, which is the best for independent travelers!

Geneva | Victoria Hall, a magnificent concert hall dedicated to Queen Victoria of England
#AprilGoodDestinations2025
Geneva's premier performance venue, Victoria Hall, was dedicated to Queen Victoria by the British consul stationed in Geneva and named after her. It is a typical Baroque style with unique artistic value and historical significance.
The magnificent corridors and halls are as dazzling as jewelry boxes, and the beaded reliefs are dazzling. The atmosphere of the candlelight concert is even more full. The entire stage is filled with white candles, and the piano is played in the flickering candlelight. It is really romantic!
If you have the chance, you must come here to watch a performance, dress up, imagine yourself as a prince or noble, and come to Victoria Hall to listen to a musical feast. Isn’t that so pretentious...haha.

Hotels with a high quality in Geneva
#Geneva #HotelGeneva
Hotel Bernina is located opposite Geneva Station. There are several restaurants downstairs that are open until late. There are buses to various attractions opposite the station.
The hotel room is clean, the toilet is separated into wet and dry areas, the view outside the window is vast, and the hotel staff is friendly.
When I went there in early May, the room was HK$1,500 a night. It was a very good price to be able to stay in the big city of Geneva with convenient transportation.
My favourite French pastry shop in Geneva
#Eclair
Address – Rue Saint-Joseph 39, 1227 Carouge, Switzerland
A French dessert shop in the Carouge neighborhood
The eclairs here are sweet but not greasy, and the chocolate melts in your mouth, leaving you with an endless aftertaste.
This is the most unforgettable dessert shop I have ever eaten at. I recommend the chocolate flavor. #Geneva
Geneva, the second largest city in Switzerland
When it comes to Switzerland, how can we miss Geneva, the second largest city in Switzerland😏
Most of the attractions are in the center of the city
It is recommended to spend only one day in Geneva🤭
📌Geneva 2019
📍Big Fountain and Lake Thunder Dream
Once you go to Switzerland, of course you should see the lake
However what makes it even more special is its large fountain
Very lucky to be able to see it launched into the sky during the winter 🤭 very spectacular 😎
If it's Sunday, you can even take a boat tour of the entire lake
But I can't sit down when I go on weekdays🥲
📍Broken leg chair and United Nations Headquarters
The broken leg chair is a symbol of hope for peace to stop the war
has a very significant significance
And across the street is the United Nations Headquarters
Some tourists will take photos and check in 🤣
Again, I can't enter to visit the United Nations
📍 St. Peter's Basilica
Free admission to visit ~
However, if you go to the top, you have to pay extra 💰
It's quite beautiful inside and worth a look😌
📍Geneva Flower Bell
A photo-worthy clock made of flowers⏰
Saw it while going to the Great Fountain of Geneva 😉
📍Hotel: Hotel Montbrillant
The hotel is right outside the Geneve train station
So pushing large luggage won't be particularly hard ~
However, it is recommended that we all avoid lightning this 🥲
The staff is not very enthusiastic
Ask the staff if they can give me more quilts
As a result, he said that the heater was broken and reacted too much🥶
Then breakfast is really average and even more than it fake boiled egg
But when I opened it, it was a raw egg 😩 broke two
Rooms are fine however with the price of thousands to stay in such a hotel
I believe there are more good options nearby🫡
As for the restaurant, there is really nothing to recommend🤭
Even Chinese restaurants are not good🥺
The above writes so few attractions
You can know that you wouldn't feel particularly sorry not to go to Geneva🤦🏻♀️

A day in Geneva 🇨🇭
#Geneva Switzerland
📍Home of the United Nations and the Red Cross headquarters
Go Play
📍The Great Fountain⛲️ The spray height is equivalent to three Leaning Towers of Pisa, which is very spectacular
📍The Big Flower Clock🌸 is located near the big fountain. Different flowers are placed according to the seasons. It is a great place to check in and take photos📷
📍A gathering of famous brand stores, with a variety of brands
💡Transportation
It takes about an hour to get there from Montreux. I highly recommend going to Montreux after visiting Geneva to get a panoramic view of the entire Lake Geneva.
