🇸🇬 Nagore Dargah, Singapore
#2024wish
Nagore Dargah was an Indian Shrine that has been existed for more than 180 years and has now turned into a heritage gallery to showcase some artefacts and information about Indian Muslim community in Singapore. It ! Interestingly, this Indian Shrine is on the same street as the Chinese temple (Thian Hock Keng) and a Malay mosque (Al-Abrar Mosque), this shows the diverse culture existing harmoniously side by side in Singapore!

The Clan Hotel Breakfast Buffet
Was surprised to know that The Clan Hotel is now offering breakfast buffet.
Breakfast buffet is served at Level 4 of the hotel.
Sad to say, the breakfast was disappointing. Limited choices were offered as shown in the photos and the quality wasn’t there. I highly suspect that food has been reheated.
I believe the hotel can do better.
If your hotel booking doesn’t come with breakfast, I think you can give it a miss and not top up for it.
There are plenty of food options nearby.

2022 Birthday Staycation Part 3 of 4
The Clan
Address : 10 Cross Street, Singapore
Price : S$400 (Grand Premier Room, with breakfast)
Trip experience 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 out of 5🌟s
My previous experience in this hotel, albeit just staying at their Deluxe Room, made me want to go back. So, this is my third stop for my birthday hotel-hopping staycations. I booked their Grand Premier Room and was able to knock-off around 30% of the rate due to the coins I earned here. Thank you Trip.com!!!
All guest rooms boast of a great entertainment system - big tv with chromecast capability! From all the hotels I stayed in, this is the only one which has your food ordered from outside/other vendors personally brought up to your room. If you are a foodie and would rather eat out, no problem! It’s location is ideal and very near so many restaurants!
Their Grand Premier room is the only type of room with a bathtub and has the biggest floor area. A bit pricey, but for me, worth-it. Perks include 5 mini-bar items of your choosing, turndown service, pillow menu and the Clankeeper services. Thanks to Mr. Rommel for running the perfect bath. Kudos to Mr. Sam Gil for being exceptional at his job who always makes guests feel they are well taken cared of and making them feel at home.

A Piece of SG History at Telok Ayer Green
Telok Ayer Green
Located along Telok Ayer Street and Boon Tat Street, this small park showcases a small pond and has different sculptures or statues depicting scenes from early immigrants around year 1800. During this time, I was staying at The Clan hotel, where there was a tea ceremony. The tea ceremony master explained a brief background of the history of Telok Ayer, it’s surrounding area, it’s settlers and the tea ceremony itself. It made me appreciate this park more because it gave me a feeling of nostalgia and deeper understanding of the place’s history. It gave me a visual of some of the topics mentioned during the tea ceremony.
This park is walking distance from Telok Ayer mrt and Amoy street. Very near it are murals, still depicting a small part of Singapore’s history. Book a hotel in this area via this app and explore the neighborhood. You can also take a stroll through Ann Siang Hill which is also nearby (refer to another trip moment I posted about this hill).

Singles’ Valentines Staycay at The Clan
Address - 10 Cross Street
Ambiance/Facilities - luxury hotel, modern furnishings / gym, infinity pool, whirlpool
Highlights - tea ceremony, excellent service, complimentary drinks from the mini-ref
Price - SGD478 (3D2N Deluxe Twin, 11.11 member sale, no breakfast)
Rating - 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Excellent customer service, my cousin and I felt like VIPs! Joan from reception and Sam, their Guest Experience Manager, ensured that we enjoyed our stay in The Clan.
Check-in was a breeze. The tea ceremony, one of a kind. Facilities (gym and pool) were clean and we felt safe to use them. The hotel ensured the maximum headcount was maintained. There was also a scheduled regular cleaning of the pool after each slot. Only guests can access the level where the pool was. A separate access card was also given for gym use. Highlight, for us, was the availability of a heated whirl pool. The water from the swimming pool was quite cold so it felt nice to dip in the warm water of the whirl pool afterwards and have the air jets massage our back, legs and feet! It reminded us of "Pansols" back home (Philippines).
The room we stayed in was clean, with no sign of wear and tear. Modern concept. I have stayed in several hotels since the pandemic, including other luxury hotels, and their entertainment system was the best - very big TV and chromecast was available! Drinks in the mini-ref are complimentary.
We also got to try dishes at Qin. Food and drinks did not disappoint. The wait staff were so attentive and serving portions were quite big.
Location is ideal since it's near several food and drink establishments. Health buffs will definitely enjoy walking around Telok Ayer and Amoy Street, including exploring Ann Siang Hill.
Hands down, one of my best staycay experiences.

Valentine’s Day Walk at Ann Siang Hill Park
From my room in The Clan hotel, I can see a curved pathway which seem to lead somewhere (refer to photo with arrow). Went out to explore, due to my curiosity. Found out this was one of the exits of Ann Siang Hill Park.
This park is near Telok Ayer mrt and can be explored in around 10 minutes.
I started from the park’s entrance found in Amoy street and followed the pathway which led me to a flight of stairs. This will lead you a spiral staircase or another pathway (exit). I went up the spiral staircase which led me to a resting area in front of PS Cafe. At the left side of PS Cafe, there was a path to go down and at the right side, it will lead you to a wall with mural (cafe’s side) and a pathway to another exit. I think the stairs at the left side and pathway at the right side of the cafe leads to either Club Street or Ann Siang road. I walked back towards the spiral staircase to go down, followed the pathway to the exit and headed my way back to Amoy street to go back to the hotel. The hill was a good 20 minute walk from and to The Clan.
Park Rating : 5/5
Address : 78 Club Street
Ambiance/Facilities : relaxed/chill; there is a PS Cafe on top of the hill and lots of benches throughout the area to rest

Getting There - Telok Ayer MRT Station
Attractions - Singapore Boutique Hotel, Lau Pa Sat & more.
🇸🇬 The historic Lau Pa Sat
Lau Pa Sat, also known as Telok Ayer Market, is one of the most touristy food courts in Singapore. Its history dates back to the 19th century. It was originally built in 1824 to served
as a wet market. In 1894, a cast-iron structure was imported from Glasgow, Scotland, and erected at the site, giving the market its distinctive octagonal shape. In the 1970s, Lau Pa Sat underwent significant renovations to transform it into a food centre.
The historic food centre offers a wide variety of local dishes and is conveniently located in the heart of the Central Business District, making it popular among both tourists and locals alike. It is easily accessible by public transportation. It is a short walk away from a few MRT stations including Downtown Station (DT17), Shenton Way station (TE19) or Raffles Place station (EW14/NS26).
