Jing Jai Market is, in my opinion, the best daytime market in Chiang Mai. It’s open every Saturday and Sunday morning, attracting both locals and tourists alike. The market features a variety of stalls offering products from local farmers and designers, including fresh foods, coffee, clothing, and more. The market has a charming and cozy community atmosphere, embodying the true Chiang Mai lifestyle. I highly recommend visiting early in the day to enjoy breakfast or a cup of coffee to start your day, followed by shopping. The two markets are not far from each other and can be arranged on the same day. Zhenxin Market sells mostly cultural and creative products. If you take your time to browse around, you can spend a whole morning there. The most famous ones are the triangular bags that are unique to Chiang Mai. Many live streamers sell the products directly on the spot, which is very popular. The Coconut Market is famous for its entire coconut tree landscape, which looks beautiful no matter how you take photos of it. In addition, there are many delicious snacks around it. Generally speaking, you can fill your stomach at the Coconut Market after visiting the Zhenxin Market. Two places that you might want to dropby when you're visiting #Chiangmai are Cham Cha Market and Jing Jai Market. These markets are spots where you find artworks and handicraft by local artisans like clothing, leather goods, knittings, indigo dyes, honey, stainless steel crafts, food and many more. I would say, things sold in both markets are quite similar but in different approaches like some are sold in stalls/booths while some in stores. In 2024, I had the pleasure of visiting beautiful Chiang Mai, a city full of culture and natural beauty. I chose to stay at U Nimman Chiang Mai on this trip, the location is really impeccable! The hotel is located in the lively Nimmanhaemin area, surrounded by many cafes, restaurants and shops, which makes it convenient for me to explore local life at any time. The two highlights in Chiang Mai are Chiang Mai Night Safari and Jing Jai Market. Chiang Mai Night Safari allowed me to experience the charm of wildlife at night, especially the wonderful feeling of observing lions and giraffes up close. The atmosphere here is mysterious and amazing, and it gave me a deeper respect for the natural world. Jing Jai Market is the best place to shop and taste local delicacies. The market was filled with a wide variety of handicrafts and fresh ingredients that I couldn’t help but try. With mouth-watering local snacks like pad thai and coconut ice cream, every bite here is filled with the taste of Chiang Mai.
