Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen temple was actually around since 1610, during the Ayutthaya period, but it was a smaller version of its current form. This royal temple is located in the Phasi Charoen district, on the banks of several Bangkok canals. The temple became well known thanks to the meditation master Luang Pu Sodh Candasaro, who was its abbot during the first half of the 20th century. Did you wonder about how the communist lived in the forest? I was fortunate to get to visit an ex - communist village in Khao Nam Khang and it was definitely interesting!!! Khao Nam Khang Historical Tunnel is situated in Mu 1, Ban Piyamit 5, Tambon Klongkwang, Natawee District, Songkhla Province, four Km from Khao Nam Khang National Park. This area was once a communist village and tunnels were built in the mountains to provide housing and shelter for the Communist people… but after the Communist Party declared an end to the fighting, the tunnel is now open to public as a unique new tourist attraction…. The tunnel is about 1,000 meters long, and is divided into many sections such as bed rooms, cooking room, signals office, meeting room, shooting range, emergency room, etc. There is also a restaurant serving delicious and healthy dishes, souvenir shop and herbal remedies shop at the tunnel complex.
