Sagad sa Sagada!
#CelebrateWithTrip
Sagada is known to be a small town with rich culture and tradition. Pag sinabing small town, best in lakaran however di mo ramdam yung pagod kasi malamig at maraming puno. 🌿🌴
Pagkarating mo roon ma-amaze kana sa kakaibang ambiance, hilera ng Pine trees🌲, group of foreign tourist, at fresh air. Also, you are required to pay for a tourism fee at their office na malapit na mismo sa baban ng bus.
🛖🏕Where to stay? Nag book ako ng homestay-inn sa Mysty Lodge (500 per night) which is not advisable kung mag-isa ka kasi malayo sa centro. Marami ring pwedeng pag stay'n around sa Tourism Office at nag re-range ito from 300 above per night.
🍽🥤Foods are quite expensive (above 100 pesos) but worth-it! The fact na nasa malayong lugar at sariling product, di ka na lugi at instagram perfect pa. Try the Sagada Lemon Pie na twice kong pinuntahan, Strawberry Cafe, Salt and Pepper, Sagada Brew, Mysty Lodge, Yugurt House and Bana Cafe.
🏞⛰🌄At last, the view and nature. Try also to view the Sunset at Lake Danum and Sunrise at Marlboro Hills.
A place with picturesque view and hospitable people, plus rich culture.

Thinking Out Loud Above the Clouds
As someone who's used to trips involving airports and flights, traveling to Sagada was a deviation from my normal getaways. It was intended for three days, to begin with, and almost a whole day was spent in the car going to the destination and heading back home. While I was there, I asked myself, what is it about this place that appeals to people? It was a question that I myself answered when we returned to our lives back in the city. Living in Sagada, nature greets you in the morning with its cold, fresh air. Pair that with a hot brewed coffee and you will feel like it is a home your spirit has been aching to dwell in for a while. I may not be keeping a boarding pass from a plane I rode to a desired destination, but I got to bond with my peer in that long and winding drive that led us to an altitude with memories much better than any flight could grant. #sagada
Experienced being above the clouds!
Catching the sunset above a sea of clouds… Marlboro Hill is located in Sagada, one of the popular tourist spots in the Philippines.
Sharing this once in a lifetime experience.. I know there are other countries with a spectacular view such as this but I would like to share one from my own.
Am getting old already so I was thankful I still got to do this before my knees can’t take it, haha! Sagada is accessible by land travel. However, to get to the top of Marlboro Hills, you have to trek uphill. Your fitness level will depend how early you should go there to start the hike. Our group of 5 consists of me, my dad, my son and 2 guides. I have quite bad knees and my dad as well so we had to stop every once in a while during the hike. We started between 3AM to 4AM, if I remember correctly. It took us almost 2 hours of trekking uphill muddy soil. The portable walking sticks I bought from here (SG) came in very handy!!! When we reached the top of Marlboro hill, there were a lot of people already but we still managed to find a good spot.
Another anticipated moment aside from watching the beautiful sunrise is the rolling in of the sea of clouds… That was such a sight, capturing it in timelapse! My photos didn’t bring it justice but I managed to have a few good shots.
Near the viewing area, there are portable toilets and a few eateries selling coffee, congee, sandwiches, etc. Aside from hiring transport and guide (costs vary), you need to pay a tourism/environmental fee (less than equivalent of SGD3).
Please check out all the photos, see the wonder of nature through my eyes…

Sagada MP: Wealth of Filipino Culture
Sagada of Mountain Province in the Philippines is such an eye-opener to lots of folks on how simple life can be.
One thing about traveling is you get to explore and embrace different cultures, traditions even their perspectives making you more a diverse person.
Sagada makes you so local and simple. It has so many breathtaking sceneries, good food, and lots of good people you get to meet.
I was able to meet like 10 random people and on our last day, we get to share who we are around a bonfire. Opening up to a random person makes you feel great because you know at the end of the day, that person has no idea who you are. Great accommodation. They don't have a five-star hotel as they only have a simple inn with a great room interior & staff.
The food is great, especially the coffee! You get to walk in the rice terraces which I hope imagined myself walking into when I was a kid.
Also Knowing their traditions and cultures is such an eye-opening. Sagada is worth visiting especially when you like to walk! See the sunrise from the Marlboro Hills.
By just taking and looking at the simple photos, you can already see the healthy culture of Sagada or the Mountain Province. Definitely on my top 3 list on my list.
Will surely come back to Sagada Mountain Province.

The Early Bird Catches the Dawn
It's almost ironic how Sagada is up in the mountains, yet one of the best things to do there is hiking a mountain. Preparation for us began as early as 4:00 in the morning. We were driven to the jumpoff site and started an hour-long traverse to Kiltepan Peak. I had time to set up my camera to record the sun as it rises while taking photos and also eating breakfast that I have not found anywhere else but Sagada, a cocoa-free champorado (sticky rice porridge). Don't worry, the prize of the laborious hike doesn't end when the sun has fully risen. We also stopped by Echo Valley and Sagada Blue Soil Hills. It's like being the early bird that hits triple birds with one stone. #sagada #marlborohill #hiking #sunrise
Hearts do heal in Sagada — this is your sign
I know you’re tired. I know you’re frustrated. You feel the need to escape the busy metropolitan life. Heck, you might even want to scream out loud. Let it go all out. Sometimes adulthood can just be disappointing. We all go through that phase; I’ve had that before, too. You will survive.
But if your load becomes unbearably heavy, it’s ironic how carrying them with you to mountain ranges about 2,000 meters above sea level, hundreds of kilometers away from this city, can make these burdens feel lighter. The magic that is Sagada.
While Sagada has been dubbed a place for broken hearts, solo travelers who’d open themselves to strangers, fellow solo travelers, for random conversations in between trips or with a cup of Sagada coffee or over a lemon pie, could also note how three days in Sagada could help you find new love interest or romance.
Try it out. Sign up for an arranged trip with strangers posted in random “DIY Joiners” facebook groups. Breathe fresh air, fresh company, fresh experience.
Sometimes it’s just all we need.
Take a rest.
