Walk on Glass Above China's Grand Canyon
⛰️ One of the longest glass bridges in the world, the Zhangjiajie glass bridge, or footpath, was definitely something unlike anything I have ever seen before. Built between two mountain cliffs, the bridge overlooks a beautiful canyon. While it may be crowded, there is still plenty of space and opportunities to get the perfect photo!
👟 Before you go on the bridge, you'll have to put on shoe covers! This protects the glass from getting scuffed by shoes. The shoe covers are included in the ticket price and will be handed to you as you enter the top of the mountain.
🧗🏻♀️ Once you've walked the bridge and taken in the scenery, you have endless activities at your fingertips. Most famously, the bridge holds the world's highest bungee jump, stationed at a whopping 285 meters tall. If that's a little too hard core for you, there is also the option to rock climb, zip line, or experience a one of a kind VR journey. Once you're done up top, you can either simply climb down the mountain, or take a slide down, which brings you through a scenic route filled with trees and laughter from the fun you'll have.
🛶 Once you've completed your activities up top, spend some time down in the canyon. Here you can take a boat tour, where you can sit and relax while taking in the natural beauty around you. You can see stunning waterfalls and wildlife as the water carries you through the mountains.

👭👭 Meet the Three Sisters: Zhangjiajie’s Timeless Trio 🌄
#summervacay
Deep in the heart of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, the Three Sister Peaks stand tall—three graceful sandstone pillars rising side by side like guardians of the sky. Locals say they represent three sisters waiting for their loved ones to return, and once you see them, it’s easy to understand the legend.
Each peak has its own unique shape and charm, but together, they create a picture-perfect silhouette against the lush green forest and drifting mist. Whether you're snapping photos from a distance or admiring them up close, the Three Sister Peaks offer a glimpse into both natural beauty and cultural folklore.
Zhangjiajie is full of wonders, but this iconic trio holds a quiet power—graceful, eternal, unforgettable.

At 天下第一桥 (First Bridge Under Heaven) in Zhangjiajie, you’ll notice a striking tradition: bright red banners fluttering tied to ancient trees near the natural stone bridge. These aren’t just decorations—they’re heartfelt wishes from visitors, hopes and dreams sent soaring into the mountain air.
Each banner carries prayers for health, love, success, or safe travels, written in bold calligraphy. Against the backdrop of towering sandstone pillars and swirling mist, these vibrant wishes create a poetic contrast—human hopes meeting the timeless power of nature.

Is it worth watching Tianmen Mountain's "Romance of the Fox Fairy & the Farmer"?
Using the real backdrop of the Tianmen Mountain (Heaven's Gate), this live performance is one of the best we have seen in China.
The storyline is about the romance of a good nature common villager and a 1000 years fox fairy. Their love was not a bed of roses at the start, but their perseverance paid off in the end.
The production led by Mei Shuaiyuan, who also produces the well-known show of Yangshuo Impression Sanjie Liu, creatively uses lights against the natural beauty of Tianmen Mountain, cascading water creating a village comprises of many Tujia Village cottages and merges live and pre-shot scenes to create special effects.
It's a nice show to watch, and as the shows are only shown at night, the cooling atmosphere makes the show a real romance.

Amazing Zhangjiajie a must visit place for Avatar-fans
Don't get discouraged if the weather report is bad for Zhangjiajje. we had three days constant raining, but the actual weather was much better! in three days we had scorching sun with 36 C, thunderstorm with huge rain, cloudy sky, cool temperatures and fog everywhere. But this kind of changing weather allowed us to experience the true Zhangjiajie-feeling. The place got international popularity after Avatar movie, but don't forget the movie is just a good amount of digital tricks this national park and what you see are all real, shows the greatness of nature.
You can spend a week or so here easily. Besides the Zhangjiajie National Park (I recommend the park ticket with the unlimited rides on the cable cars and lifts, also valid for 4 consecutive days, so afterall not that expensive). And yes, start early, you will avoid the crowds or start late you will also avoid the crowd or just go where the tour groups don't go (for example the sights between Tianzi Helong Park and Yangjiejie Wulong Village are just skipped by 99% of the tours and 95% of the individual visitors. So after the busy Tianzi Cable station we found or totally alone at “Shentang gulf" or at a platform named "Arranging Battles". It was amazing! peace, quite only the view of the gorgeous stone columns of Zhangjiajie.
